Great trip! Wish there was more time at the Black Museum Be ready for a lot of time in the van. The white temple was very neat And the lunch was lovely. Blue Temple was cool

Overcharged and dangerous driving

I'd have given zero star if that's possible. The driver was driving more than 100km/h in a very windy road having no regards to the our lives. Plus, this is NOT a private tour but you pay substantially more than the other tours available on Viator.

Good morning from Bangkok We are extremely sorry to hear that you have faces an issue with our experience. we will check with our driver and guide, usually we are not allowed to drive as par our ministry of transportation policy to 100 KM - if we drive at this speed every commercial van will stop automatically with a warning sound. However I will check to my level best. Our Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai is far and it has got around 400 KM drive in round trip drive so the price may not be cheap. It would be nice and better if you take private tour again the price would be much higher. We still apology for this experience and we will do tour best to make it excellent. regards

Bus was absolutely uncomfortable. Old and dirty. Not good for a long tour like this. Tour was very good and guide and driver grate.

The tip was good and our guide I couldn't really fault. We enjoyed the white & blue temple, the visit to the karen Hill tribe and museum. The hot springs was only a pit stop onroute but nothing interesting. The golden triangle was not worth seeing at all. The boat trip was a quick cruise around to show you Laos, Thailand and Myanmar and to tell you some rich Chinese business man bought a casino. The quickly show you no mans island but you cant get off. The guides was horrendous on the boat and just kept repeating themselves then they put loud spanish music on to make it a party boat? The journey back from here was 4hours which was far too long. Our bus had 12 people on it and it was far too full and uncomfortable, it didn't help the bus was quite old. The driver was lovely bus maybe he should not be using his mobile phone whilst driving going onto Facebook and line! Would I recommend.....no I wouldn't.

The best of Chiang Rai in a day

This had a “hop on-hop off” feel to it. The roundtrip was 15 hours with most of it driving in the van. We were traveling with 4 young children (ages 2, 4, 7 and 8). It was enough walking and sightseeing off the bus that the kids did great for the whole day. I wish I would have known ahead of time that I needed to be covered for the white temple. As a woman, I knew my shoulders needed to be covered so I brought a sweater but I had mid length shorts on which was not allowed. I had to rent a long skirt to put over my shorts. Overall, not a big deal. Just would have been nice to know. Bring snacks and entertainment for the van ride. My only wish is that there was a little more time for souvenir shopping.

Such a wonderful time and the best tour guide! She went above and beyond to make sure eveyone was having a good time and even to ensure we didnt miss any of the important things! I wish we had a little more time at the white temple but with the amount of places and things you get do in just one day its understandable. Love love love! Book this tour!

A good day trip of you want to hit major sites in Chiang Rai. Amazing art and history. It was neat to meet the Karen people, though it was pretty touristy in the place. Helpful and friendly tour guide and driver.

This was an excellent trip. As others have said, it is a LONG trip, but Chiang Rai is quite a distance from Chiang Mai so you have to expect it. The tour leaves early, we were picked up at 7:30am, and travelled for an our to the hot springs for a toilet break and shops for breakfast. Then it was on to the White Temple, which is very impressive. This is a new temple, 20 years old, and you can tell this from the decorations and setup. Lunch was nice, too much for just us. Then on to the Blue Temple which is very blue! Coconut ice cream is excellent. Then a market, not really our thing but it broke up the trip. Before visiting the northern most point of Thailand, due to Covid the border is closed but this does not impact the trip. Then its off tot he Golden Triangle for the boat ride, again due to Covid boarders are closed so the boat only stays on Thailand side of the border. Finally the long 4 hour trip back...broken with a break half way. We were back in Chiang Mai around 9pm. Our tour guide, Ms Susie, was excellent and its great to support local people during Covid and hear their stories. Our driver Mr Anthony was a good safe driver. Overall the guides were excellent and made our tour for us. As we were the only two on this tour we were told an extra charge for 800 bhat each, this was fine to pay and didn't bother us, however I did find it a little cheeky to ask as the tour was already one of the most expensive on Viator. Overall I would recommend this trip! Long day but you see loads and its very fun!!

Even though it was a long day with alot of driving it was really a great tour. Saw heaps of things and our tour quide Mr Mu was fantastic, he explained things clearly and was constantly keeping us up to date on what we were doing etc. He was very helpful and knowledgeable

Great tour guide, Sunny & Tim (driver). Am very impressed with the great knowledge and hospitality (guided tour) to facilitate my 80 years old wheel chair mum and auntie (70 years old). We have Mexican, Italian ...spanish speaking tourist with us. Wonderful to travel with the young people... It was indeed a great family tour for us. Overall was remarkable indeed.

Long day but great tour!

This was a long day but didn't seem as long as we had expected since we kept moving. Our guide was great and provided us great information about each stop! I rated this as a four and not a five for two reasons... 1. I did feel a little rushed at the White Temple 2. The lunch. I mainly booked this tour for the white temple so was disappointed to only have 45 minutes to explore. I would have liked more time at the white temple and skip the neck tribe. I found the Golden Triangle very interesting. Since our tour didn't include the trip to Laos and we opted not to add it the day of the tour we explored the area. We went to the opioid museum while the rest of the group went to Laos. After talking to the group I think we made the right choice as they said it was just another market and not much more to see. Overall, it was a long day but it was nice to see the sights.

Great Tour of the Beautiful White Temple and Golden Triangle...

My girlfriend and I enjoyed touring the White Temple of Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle. The White Temple is very beautiful and memorable. The short boat ride across the Mekong River to Laos is something I'll never forget. Our tour guide Sunny was great...she was very helpful, friendly and personable. She made the journey extra special. Our driver Joe was great too...very safe and reliable driver. Keep in mind this is a long day. I suggest you don't plan anything for the next morning as you will not return to your hotel until about 10pm. Long day of touring but well worth it. I highly recommend. Thank you Sunny and Joe for showing us the White Temple, Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle. The hill tribe stop was great too...great deals on shopping.

Es un día pesado, peor en mi opinión vale totalmente el viaje, nuestro guía Matthew con un perfecto inglés, entendíamos todos, muy servicial, todo lo respondía y explicaba muy bien. Trató todo el tiempo de hacernos un día muy ameno y menos pesado. Son muchas cosas en un día, pero esta muy bien diseñado.
