Excellent tour one-on-one with a very knowledgable, friendly guide with a deep understanding of the subject matter from both his Cretan and my NZ perspectives. Both the logistics of the tour and his well-informed engagement with places, events and people involved made it a very successful day.

We are glad you enjoyed the tour! The Battle of Crete has a special connections for the local people of west Crete as many got involved in the fighting and later in resistance and hiding allied soldiers. We cannot forget the sacrifices of those who came from the other side of the earth to protect our values and freedom. Likewise, hiding soldiers could not understand why locals took extreme risks to themselves and their families protecting, sheltering and feeding the soldiers in the mountains. This legacy still is visible today as the sacrifices of the soldiers and locals alike must not be forgotten.

This was such an amazing tour! I’m so glad we went. I’ll be honest, we went because my dad is a WW2 buff and it was mainly for him. But even for myself and the rest of my family, this was deeply engaging and profoundly moving. We learned a lot about the history of Crete, and got to see so many small villages (and a bakery!) we would never have been able to see without our amazing tour guide, who was knowledgeable and friendly! We also saw a massive private collection of artifacts that was a once in a lifetime experience.
Thanks again!

I am glad you enjoyed the Battle of Crete tour! I try to squeeze as much information as possible, without making the tour tiring or boring. Our grandfathers went through a lot of hardship and many paid the ultimate price, locals are indebted and never forget these sacrifices. My interest in modern history, combined with the feeling of gratitude for the sacrifices of locals and allies alike make me strive to present the best insight and overview of the battle.
