The Mauritiusan Way - all the way. we were scheduled to start at 09AM and thus collected at our apartment at 715AM. The driver was very kind and it was a smooth and beautiful ride. When we arrived no one was around and the “checkin” office barely open, and not very welcoming. The boat was still getting prepared she said. We left the shore at 1030AM !!!!!! 1,5 hour we had hoped/expected to use at the beach or in the water snorkeling. Ile aux Cerfs is beautiful and we had a good time. The catamaran was ok, the food they cooked/grilled onboard was okay. The music onboard was terrible and too loud. The snorkeling equipment mentioned we could borrow needs attendance and did not work completely. Free drinks worked as long as they had some, and the afternoon snack was not existing. At the end of the tour we were taken to see the waterfall, it was beautiful. We had a good day, we ✔️✔️ some wishes from our list, but the described trip is not what you get.

Poor organisation

The trip itself was really good, however we paid for transfers both ways from our hotel and we where left stranded after the trip, nobody returned to pick us up , the driver said that he had taken another job, luckily a local who worked at the dock gave us a lift to the hotel after us waiting an hour for the driver we had already paid for, there was nobody from the operator to help us when we returned.

Organization chaos all the way

The drive from the hotel to the boat, was with a really pleasant driver and even if a long drive (1,5 hours) time went by really fast The boat trip was a total haos due to: - boat left at 10 am instead of 9 am - boat was overloaded with over 40 tourists instead of up to 24. Not everyone had a place on the boat - we have been offered on the boat additional activities and food (lobster) for which we have been told we can pay by card. After the service/food was delivered a crew member came and told us we have to pay cash in local currency as otherwise they have to pay tax, so after the trip each couple that had something to pay was escorted by a crew member to an ATM machine to withdraw the owned amount. It was a very unsafe moment of the trip and really felt like a total abuse because we asked ahead if card is accepted - as we got to Ile Aux Cerfs, we had one hour and 30 minutes to enjoy the island. Upon going back on the catamaran, when it came to pick us up it docked for 2/3 minutes and left really quick. We started all telling the captain and crew members that not everyone is on board but have been told the rest are doing an activity called walking under the sea. It was only when we got almost to the returning point when crews from other catamarans started calling that people have been left behind … only 6. And the crew was still very arrogant even if it was their fault for leaving the people behind Overall I would not recommend this tour operator again

Somewhat disappointing

Collection from the hotel went without issue however problems started upon arrival at the quayside. We were checked off a list by a lady with a clipboard who was to say the least somewhat disorganised. Having been told to wait, some 30 minutes later she asked our names again and found we weren’t on her list! Eventually we located the right tour company only to find the catamaran had left so we were sent by speedboat to catch it up. The crew on board were excellent and explained the facilities on board and full itinerary. The waterfall was fine with a few local monkeys nearby. The coral reef and snorkelling was disappointing - most of the coral was bleached or dead with very few fish remaining which for me was to be the highlight of the day. Food on board was great and well presented. The island was fine but again poor snorkelling. Upon our return we looked high and low for our driver who was nowhere to be found. After 30 minutes we were approached by another driver who confirmed he was our appointed driver for the return leg. It would have been helpful if we knew this beforehand to save undue stress. Overall the excursion was average, let down by poor organisation and disappointing snorkelling conditions.
