The dancers, production, service staff, and the 90-minute performance were all excellent. Kudos to the performers and everyone working behind the scenes— they truly delivered a memorable show.
However, on the night I attended, the venue felt overfilled. Seating was extremely tight, with guests packed closely together. I was seated in an upper tier corner, which already felt like a disadvantage, but it was made worse by an inconsiderate guest in front who repeatedly held their phone up, obstructing the view while trying to document the entire show.
Leaning forward wasn’t an option either, as I would have blocked the view of those seated behind me. In the end, I had to stand for most of the performance just to properly appreciate the show.
I understand this is a cultural experience popular with tourists, but I hope management takes a closer look at venue capacity. It significantly affects the overall guest experience and expectations. It’s a shame when such talented performers give their all, only for the atmosphere to feel cramped and, at times, like a money-driven setup.
Would I recommend the show? Yes.
Would I recommend watching tango at El Viejo Almacén based on this experience? Unfortunately, no.

However, I am sincerely sorry that the seating arrangements and the venue's capacity overshadowed such a great show for you. We take your comments very seriously. El Viejo Almacén is a historic building from 1969, and while its intimate atmosphere is part of its charm, we understand that "intimate" should never mean "uncomfortable" or "overcrowded."
Regarding the guest who obstructed your view with their phone, I apologize that our floor staff didn't intervene to ensure everyone could enjoy the show comfortably. Your feedback about the upper tier seating and the feeling of being "packed in" has been shared directly with our Sales and Operations Management to re-evaluate our capacity limits and seating charts.
We want our guests to leave feeling they had a premium experience, not just a "tourist setup." I would love the opportunity to welcome you back in the future under better conditions. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you plan to return.

the malambo danced by the gauchos was amazing!! such a fun surprise! all the dancers were extremely talented and service was attentive. even with vip seating our views of the stage were partially obstructed but overall great experience in a historic setting

I booked it the day of. I selected only the show. Being a solo female traveler, I picked this because they offer pick up and drop off from my hotel. But they didn’t provide me with the perk because they were already full. Its a safe-ish area and I ended up taking an uber.
Don’t expect a lot of communication from their side though.

The tour operator was terrible. Reminders to make sure you are ready for pick up at 7:30, they cannot wait. They did not show up until 8:30. We stood outside waiting for an hour. As a result the very nice dinner was rushed. The show was great. We were given great seats. My suggestion would be to do this dinner and show and either take an uber there or find a different operator.

Never seen anything quite like this. The performers were all professional, the organisation was perfect and the food was worth spending on if you haven't eaten. Was definitely worth the money.

We had a very nice evening. My wife and I went at the beginning of our honeymoon, and it was a lovely experience. We paid for front-row seats — a fantastic spot! The dancers were incredible and full of passion, and the ladies were literally swinging above us. The band seemed a little tired, but overall, it was a great evening. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to experience authentic tango in Buenos Aires.

This show was twice the cost of other Tango dinner shows, there is less tango dancing in the performance. I was in the transfer bus for an hour and a half , a waste of time.

The dinner was nice. The showroom is across the street from the restaurant. The show lasts for ~2hrs with full taste of cultural tango and songs. Kids may feel tired toward the end as the show will last till around half past 11pm.

It was cool to see some parts of this show. There was lot more singing than I was expecting. Still a pretty cool show. Drinks are included but are really cheap ones so just pay for the drinks.

A terrific tango show in a venerable location. Excellent dancers and band. Wonderful drums and boleadoras. Amazing what 6 dancers could do on a small stage. We did show only so I can’t comment on food.

We chose the dinner package and the food was very good. The waiters were a fun group. The tango performance was well done with several variations. The Gaucho/Bolas demonstration was very interesting and fun. We would have been fine without the singer at the end. We had come for the dancing and that was more than satisfying enough. Also, the dinner package came with transportation to and from the venue from our airbnb.

We had a really enjoyable evening. The meal was well presented with a good choice of food and water and wine on the table. We were in the VIP room on the second floor. Unfortunately it lacked air con and did get much too warm.
The theatre was charming - small and intimate. The show was amazing! For such a small stage it was so impressive how professional the dancers were. The music complemented it very well and there was a lot of variety. Overall an excellent night!

The show itself is amazing and I highly recommend you go but not through this tour. In theory the tour provides the convenience of a pick up and drop off but in reality a day before the event i got a message saying my airbnb is out of the pick up zone and that they’d pick me up at a hotel 20 mins away. Then we spent over an hour in a van collecting other people from all over the city. When I asked if they could at least drop us back home after the show, since it would be 1 AM, answer was no (not particularly nicely) - so we bailed and took an uber home. Honestly the uber is leas than $10 - just buy the tix and take an uber. Save money and the headache.

This was a show I booked at the last minute after talking to a fellow cruiser who had booked it. I’m so glad I decided to booked for me and my husband.
It was a great night and highly recommend it. Picked up from our hotel in Buenos Aires taken to restaurant where we had a fabulous three course meal with wine included. We then walked across street to the venue for the Tango show. We were seated upstairs. What a show. Wonderful. Two drinks were also included during the show. At the end of the evening we were taken back to hotel.

Love this tango and would say it is must see for anyone visiting Buenos Aires! It was a very well round show with amazing talented dancers, singer, musicians and entertainer!!! The only thing is I wish we would have gotten better seats because they sat us all the way in the back even though we saw there were empty seats in front of us.
