We all thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Maria. She was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the history of the city and region, as well as the various foods and beer that we experienced. We toured on a Friday, yet she was able to quickly get us into very busy dining venues. The food and beer were wonderful and the tour delightful

Wonderful introduction to history and foods/beer

Tour guide did not show up, waited about 30 minutes. Could initially not get anyone to respond to my phone calls. Calling guide only went to voice mail. Finally had to call new reservations with Viator to speak with someone. Waiting on refund. Done many tours with Viator, first disappointment.

William_C, Sep 2025
Maria provided us a wealth of historical knowledge, and the food was delicious. There was a problem with the guide for our morning tour, so we were shifted to the afternoon group. Our schedule was flexible, so this wasn’t a problem for us. However, communication in the morning was difficult and confusing, leaving us wondering what was happening. This part of the tour, overall, was very poorly handled.

History and food. A great combination

Donna_G, Sep 2025
Great tour with Maria. Had waffles, chocolates, hot chocolate, frites beer and bitterballen while learning a lot about Brugge history.

Nice tour of Brugge

Monte_T, Sep 2025
We really enjoyed our history and food tour of Brugge. Our guide, Maria, offered lots of interesting information about Brugge, and the food and beer stops were good, too.

Wonderful food tour of Bruges - highly recommend!

Mark_K, Aug 2025
Great sampling of classic Bruges food. Maria was a wonderful guide who was very knowledgeable and really brought the place to life - highly recommend!

A great day in Bruges

jenni22514, Aug 2025
Maria shared her love for this city and culture. She managed to keep my teens engaged for hours. We really enjoyed our time with her. She went out of her way to find us the best spot to eat and drink. I would highly recommend this tour!

Stood up. Buyer beware

Gregory_H, Jul 2025
Guide never showed up. There was no communication either before or after. No apology. We had limited time, so this really ruined our time in this great little city. We wasted precious time waiting when we could have done something else. As we stood at the designated meeting place, there was another family standing there with the same experience. Not sure if it was the same tour operator, but having been stood up at the same meeting spot 30 minutes apart is at least an amazing coincidence. I would give zero stars if it was an option.

Bruges walking & boat tour

Andrew_F, Jun 2025
A fair bit of walking & standing. Only get to fast 1 chocolate but it is good. Take a hat as you are in full sun on the boat .

Fun but crowded

Drew_L, Jun 2025
Fun food tour with knowledgeable and friendly local guide Maria. The food was very good, but the streets were very crowded which slowed us down a lot at times. I’d recommend avoiding Friday/Saturday if possible, though it would still be a fun time if you have to brave the crowds.

Brugge is Stupendous

Ronald_T, Jun 2025
The city of Brugge is beyond stunning. It has been perfectly preserved for over 500 years. The tour guide was one of the best we ever had and we are extensive travelers. She was super knowledgeable and passionate. The food, beer, chocolate, etc. were excellent. I could not recommend the tour or the city enough.

Maria had lots of...

Kati_H, May 2025
Maria had lots of knowledge and passion about Bruges and we throughly enjoyed her sharing that with us

Very disappointed

David_V, May 2025
We arrived at the EXACT meet up location 15 minutes before the tour. Inexplicably we could not locate the tour guide and the tour company was of little help. Why the guide didn't call or text me is beyond belief as this would have easily solved the problem. We were meeting near the busy market square which was full of people and vendors making it difficult to navigate. The tour left without us and the tour company refused to give a refund. Viator was of no help whatsoever. We have taken MANY excursions and never had a problem finding our guide. The reputable companies have their guides reach out to locate the tour participants. To say this was a disappointment is an understatement as we were looking forward to this tour while in Bruges.

Great insight to Bruges history & top places to visit

Emma_R, Jan 2024
We enjoyed listening to the history, May our tour guide was lovely, very informative & gave us tips on other excursions. Also the hot chocolate at Oliviers was exceptional!

Walking, waffles beer and more!

barbara_o, Dec 2023
Brenda was fantastic, lively, engaging Walked at a good pace and she gave us insider tips eg look for the cocoa bean of excellence award when purchasing chocolate. First tasting was hot chocolate at Oliviers… really rich - delicious , especially the spicy one we picked, the local waffles, lamb balls and frites were good too! This interspersed with history… Flemish pride in the canals, the hospital and the buildings around the central square. Terminated at a beer tasting in the beer museum We didn’t need supper! Would highly recommend

Food and facts

Richard_D, Oct 2023
Brenda was really informative about the history and facts of Bruges. We learnt lots and the walk helped us get our bearings in the city which set us up well for the rest of our trip. Enjoyable food stops.

Brenda was a wonderful guide

Nancy_F, Oct 2023
Brenda was our guide. She texted us just prior to our tour to let us know how to readily meet up with her. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. We were the only two people on her tour, yet we felt as though she was giving it her all. We had a lovely day and learned many interesting facts pertaining to the history of Bruges.

A great intro to Bruges!

Kathy_B, Sep 2023
This was a wonderful tour. May was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Bruges and it’s notable good. Come hungry for this tour! This tour was a great way to get to know Bruges.

Great way to see the city

Ann_B, Sep 2023
We really enjoyed this tour. Brenda did a great job explaining history. She was personable and very lovely. There was so much food.

Fun food and history

Geoff_R, Aug 2023
May took us in a wonderful walk through Brugge punctuated with food stops to try the best of traditional food and beer. May was great company and really interesting. We had a fun three hours.

Disappointing

andreabswenson, Jun 2023
There was no highlight. It was disappointing. There could have a lot more historical information. Food was fair. Chocolate was good

Response from Host, Jun 2023

Thank you for your review. We apologize for the lack of highlights and will work on providing more historical information in the future. We appreciate your feedback on the food, and we're glad you enjoyed the chocolate. Your input is valuable to us, and we hope to serve you better next time.

Needed more Depth in Bruges

Raja_T, Jun 2023
Would have liked a local with a more in depth knowledge of Brugees. When I asked questions the guide had no idea. It would have helped if she spoke better English. She may have been excellent in her native tongue, but of course of no use to us.

Response from Host, Jun 2023

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the guide's lack of knowledge and language proficiency. We appreciate your understanding, and we will work to improve our services. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Awesome tour!

Katherine_F, May 2023
Fantastic tour with very engaging and informative guide called May. Lots of food stops so don’t be full when you go! Learnt lots about the city too - highly recommended.

Highly recommend!!

Cristy_P, Dec 2022
"T," as she is called, was an amazing guide! She has a tremendous knowledge of local and regional history, culture, and language. She is friendly, intelligent, interesting, and worldly, having lived all over the world. She shared her favorite places in Bruges with us for "Belgian" fries, hand-crafted artisan chocolate, the best waffle I have ever eaten, and mulled wine and beer at the Christmas Market. She spent Christmas Day with us, and we are so grateful to her for giving us such a memorable and special day.

A gentle introduction to the history of Brugge with some food added!

BrianM_M, Oct 2022
The food! Nice to sample some bitteballs and the hot chocolate was amazing. Enough information to give an overview of Brugge without being overwhelming.

History and food

Knowledgeable and friendly guide who provides a history of Bruges to go along with some great food and beverage offerings.

Highly Recommend!

Erica_J, Jul 2022
We had an amazing time with Tanny, I couldn't believe how the time flew by. It was a really special tour experience to blend learning so much about the history of the area, plus getting to try different foods and drinks along the way. We did this tour first thing on our trip, and it was so helpful being able to spot the best chocolate shops and cool things on buildings during the rest of our time in Brugges. My mother has a mobility handicap and Tanny was very patient with her and adjusted her schedule to make sure we wouldn't feel rushed. Tanny also stayed in contact with me after the tour and helped me figure out plans for our next day. I really can't recommend working with her enough! A small side note, do be aware of how you're booking that it might not be a private tour with just your family based on how you book it. I found this process a little confusing. Tanny is very responsive though, so if you're unsure of your booking just send her a message. It's well worth it!

Great tour of Brussels with food, chocolate and beer.

Lisa_K, Jul 2022
The food tour with DK was very informative and tasty. We experienced a nice variety of food, chocolate and beer while exploring the city.

Well worth the money! A great quaint tour!

Mindy_C, Jul 2022
Our guide JK was excellent! Very intimate tour with only 8 people. We stopped along the root to enjoy waffles, beer and chocolate, beer and cheese, and visited two breweries. JK gave us a great perspective of the city. Highly recommend this tour!!
