Bordeaux is a beautiful and historic city. The architecture is amazing. If you visit Bordeaux and want to learn about it from a local, there's nobody better than Sophia.
Originally from the UK, Sophia has lived in Bordeaux for many years. A big plus for travelers that speak English as their first language, Sophia speaks English that's easy to understand. This is important since Sophia has many interesting stories to share.

Gentle but extensive guided walk to get to know the city. Great insights into the Bordelaise life and the city's history. Good balance of facts, anecdotes and personal insights. Felt we knew the city much better after the walk. Sophie is a delightful character and has a very engaging manner. She is originally English, now living in Bordeaux so communication was extremely easy.

I would really recommend this tour with Sophia. It was like meeting up with an old friend who was proudly showing us her beloved city. Sophia was warm, engaging and highly knowledgeable about Bordeaux. We learned a lot and we were especially interested to hear about the process of Bordeaux’s ‘rejuvenation’ over the last 20-30 years, as well as insights into local life and culture, not to mention sampling local sweets specialties! This tour is excellent value and a great way to immerse yourself in Bordeaux.

My wife and I arrived in Bordeaux early before our river cruise and we wanted to explore the city. Walking with Sophia is a wonderful way to get to know Bordeaux. As we walked along the various streets, Sophia's explanations and insights helped us understand the history, economics, and culture of the city. In addition, when Sophia learned that we were considering a light dinner of wine and cheese after the tour, she took us to her favorite fromagerie and boulangerie to make that happen. We highly recommend this tour.

It was important to learn about the history of Bordeaux. There is more to Bordeaux than wines, although they are amazing. A very detailed explanation of the citie’s history for a 2 hour tour.

We asked her for a good recommendation for a lunch restaurant. We said seafood would be nice. Our trip that day happened to end at a large market with the nest seafood booth and bar/ restaurant in Bordeaux . It was great.

Sophia was an excellent tour guide. She met us promptly and packed the next three hours with interesting stories of the history and culture of Bordeaux both past and present. We learned so much I wish we had a day or two more in Bordeaux to explore the area. She also stopped to let us sample the local delicacy canelé at an independent cafe, which was worth trying while in Bordeaux. I would highly recommend a walking tour of Bordeaux with Sophia!
