Heading into a private reserve in the Páramo of Sumapaz—the largest páramo ecosystem in the world—you’ll hike up to 3,800 meters, roughly 12,500 feet. Hiking without Water for Three Hours

The driver was right on time, but the communication wasn't clear. I asked him to stop and buy water, but he insisted that there will be some water at the destination. When we got there, the tour guide gave me some sweet tea and a piece of bread. Thisis bad because I went hiking for three hours without any water. He didn't have any water in the car either. I would recommend that there should be some water for hikers.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear the driver arrived on time, and we’re sorry that your experience did not fully meet expectations. We would like to clarify a few important points for future travelers. Our tour description asks guests to come prepared with their own water and gear, specially for challenging hikes of this nature. Sumapaz is also known as a natural water factory that supplies drinking water to local communities with fresh spring water from creeks along the trail. This fresh water is alwasy available during the hike and we encourage travelers to enjoy it. This reservation was made last minute and you agreed in advance to continue with a Spanish-speaking guide. While we always aim for clear communication, we understand that language differences can sometimes make this more challenging and we regret any confusion this may have caused. As a courtesy our team provided you with a snack and a warm drink upon arrival which was not included in the tour price you chose. After the hike, our host did provide you with a glass of water which you did not drink and instead purchased bottled water in the city. We appreciate your suggestion regarding water availability and will continue working to better remind guests to come prepared for outdoor activities. Guest safety and comfort are always a priority for us! Thank you again for your feedback and we wish you safe travels.

Our guide, Juan, was excellent--knowledgeable about the geography, geology, flora, fauna, history, etc., of the Sumapaz Paramo. We would do it again, but Juan has to be our guide!

Gracias por tus comentarios! Revisamos la comunicación de whatsapp y encontramos que el 31 de Enero te confirmamos que era un tur en Español y pediste unas botas talla 36. El 9 de Febrero cambiamos la fecha del tur según tu solicitud y el Domingo después del tur te preguntamos como había sido tu experiencia. No encontramos ninguna conversación donde hubo algún desacuerdo o mal entendido. El Lunes nos dijiste que pensabas que era un tur privado y te confirmamos que nosotros solo ofrecemos tures grupales a través de Viator. Después no hubo ninguna conversación entre nosotros, entonces desconocemos la razón de tu mala experiencia que mencionas. El Martes 12 si recibimos un mensaje de un asesor de Viator respecto a la privacidad del tur y le dimos la misma respuesta que a ti, explicando que nuestros tures no son privados y que otros viajeros se pueden unir en cualquier momento y que esto está claramente explicado en la página de reservas. La manera como el asesor de Viator se comunicó contigo la desconocemos, pero de parte nuestra no encontramos ningún mal entendido o desacuerdo en la comunicación. En ese sentido, nos ayudaría mucho conocer mayores detalles de la experiencia negativa que mencionas y por que consideras que no fue positiva. Lo extraño es que la hoja de comentarios que tu llenaste al final del tur, aparece toda excelente con calificación del 100%, incluyendo la parte de comunicación y reservas entonces realmente no entendemos en que momento ocurrio la mala experiencia que mencionas, o si tal vez no fue directamente con uno de nuestros asesores. Agradecemos cualquier detalle al respecto y estamos muy dispuestos a esclarecer la situación mencionada.
