This was our first visit to the Great Wall of China and it was one of the highlights of our vacation. The bus ride to Mutianyu went absolutely smoothly and thanks to our lovely guide, Jasmine, we could tailor our visit at the wall to our wants and needs. Would recommend to other travellers looking for transport to the Great Wall - good value. We travelled with Busda to the Great Wall with Christina as our guide who was very helpful with purchasing our cable car and cable way tickets while recommending which route to take. No frills transport to the Great Wall, good value

This tour was as described, so if you want easy transport to the Great Wall so that you can explore on your own, book it. The bus was clean, and it was well-organized. My guide, Evelyn, reached out the night before to ensure I was clear on departure information. On the bus, she shared minimal history, and then she took time with each person to choose what options they wanted (cable car, toboggan, etc.). You’ll prepay by cash or WeChat/alipay so that she could buy the tickets quickly for the group upon arrival. A couple of notes on the wall itself: if 5 hours seems too long, it’s definitely not on a crowded day. You have to take a shuttle to/from the wall at 20-30min each way (most of that waiting in line), and the slide line took just over an hour, so there was really only 3hr for the wall. Some areas on the wall were so crowded and tight to get through that it seemed like I was at an amusement park waiting in lines. It was still worth it, just don’t think it will be a completely idyllic setting. And you will definitely not be alone, there were tons of people having photo shoots for social media. I wasn’t able to with my work schedule, but try for a weekday. And my other advice is to walk between towers 6 and 14, it’s the least crowded so you have a bit more space to enjoy the splendor.
