A good tour guide like we had with Jean will make using the local transportation much easier and fun. Jean also had a very good understanding of history which enhanced our experience.

super efficient. you will ride a tram from your hotel, then train, then bus, then cable car, gondola, cogwheel, boat, back to the train. All expertly led by Jean and he had tickets, provided an easy relaxed experience.
not a lot of walking - one stroll that is uphill and if you want stairs outside top the tip top of mountain. my father has mobility issues and stayed and watched a provided historical movie near the top while I went up. but otherwise able to walk leisurely from one thing to the next.
don’t surprised if fog and clouds obscure view. Jean provided history, legends, practical info about swiss life and was funny.

We never understood how a personally guided tour could be so fantastic until this one. Through our guide we became familiar with the trams of Basel, the trains of Switzerland, and many other aspects of travel in Europe. The boat cruise on Lake Lucerne let us relax and just soak in the beauty. The Mt. Pilatus cog railway and cable cars were a trip highlight. Little did we know, “There be Dragons about!”. Great visuals abounded and our guide imparted a happy, informal and engaging attitude. We wish her the best and can say only the best about Viator.
