Our guide Eirini was excellent. A native of Athina she knew the area quite well . She was relaxed and laid back and accommodated our personal timing . The sights she showed us were amazing it was a great itinerary . I would however recommend only having 3 adults or less participate as we were four and the backseat was crowded in her Mercedes .

Wonderful relaxing day outside of Athens. Amazing tour guide Manos taught us a lot of Athenian history on our drive to the impressive Corinth Canal and beyond. Visited the most beautiful winery and sampled 6 local wines (local cheese and crackers included with the tasting!) final stop was in the lovely seaside town of Nafplio for a delicious lunch and stroll through the adorable town. Highly recommend this relaxing full day tour that is truly at your own pace. Manos’ car is comfortable and he truly makes the day special with interactive conversation but also quiet time when needed.

This is a wonderful, relaxing day outside of the bustling city of Athens. The canal is beautiful, and the winery is simply gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed Nafplio. They had a yacht show that day; we sat at a restaurant right across from them and had an excellent lunch. Afterward, we wandered the winding streets full of shops and vendors. Our guide let us nap on the way home! Delightful!

Eirini was a wonderful guide. She arrived right on time, was very friendly and knowledgeable. This was a wonderful day trip! We saw another beautiful part of Greece and learned a lot of interesting information from Eirini. The car was a very comfortable way to travel. We could sit back and enjoy the views. She provided us with waters and had a great plan for the day. This is a wonderful itinerary and would be great during any part of your trip. We enjoyed seeing the Corinth Canal and the surrounding countryside. The Semelí Winery is outstanding and easily the most beautiful winery we have ever visited. The surrounding countryside is so incredibly beautiful that it almost looks fake! The wine is delicious and Maria was an excellent guide during our time there. We loved our time at the fortress and in Nafplio as well. I couldn’t ask for a better experience! Thank you Eirini!

What a great way to explore Greece outside of Athens! Despite a rainy day, Eirini was a wonderful guide taking us through our journey culminating in a stop at Semeli Winery. Wonderful experience on par with the best of Napa and Sonoma. Eirini was so great we ended up booking a second tour!

This was such a wonderful break from 3 days of visiting ruins! Irene met us at the port right on time. The marvel of the Corinth Canal has to be seen to be appreciated it was dug by hand/dynamite. Wish we could have had more time at the winery to drink a glass other than just the tasting, but understood the time frame given . The Palamidi fortress is amazing and so huge! Got great photos there. The town of Nafplio is lovely. We wondered all the little streets and ate on the square. The waiter gave us cookies his mom had made that morning! Overall, recommend this tour a great deal!

A relaxing tour away from the crowds

This was one of our favorite tours during our trip to Greece this September. Nafplio is about two hours away from Athens. As such, we weren't crushed by tourists as we were at the Acropolis, or in Santorini or Mykonos. We explored the beautiful old Greek capital at our own leisure and enjoyed a delicious authentic Greek lunch (that's not included in the price so you can choose what dishes you want). Afterwards, we explored the ruins of an old Venetian fortress that overlooks the city (entrance fee was 8 euros). Be warned, like most attractions in Greece, you'll need the sure-footedness of a mountain goat. But the climb was worth the view. On the way to Nafplio we stopped at the Corinth Canal. This is not an ancient engineering marvel, but it gave everyone a restroom break and a reason for detailed explanation of the area's biblical history by our guide. Paul's letters to the Corinthians were addressed to the people that lived here. After this quick stop, we headed to the Nemea region, which is the largest wine-growing area in southern Greece. We had a detailed tour of the Semeli Estate and its wine-making operation. And for 19 euros per person, we sampled four different (very good) wines (and cheese) at this very classy winery. There is a more expensive tasting package that includes more wines, but as this was before lunch, we thought we go easy on the fruit of the vine. Our guide was Manos Grizas, who planned this packaged tour, was driving his Mercedes (yes, it's a yellow taxi but it's a very comfortable, roomy Mercedes) and treated us like distant American family visiting Greece for the first time (which we were). In fact, when one of our party discovered afterwards at the hotel that his cell phone had fallen out of his pocket in the car, a WhatsApp text to Manos was almost instantly answered by a phone call, even though he was on his way home at 7 pm. I cannot recommend this tour (and the guide) enough.

Our guide Eirini was very nice and knowledgeable of everything about Greece and the area. All of the stops - Corinth canal, the vineyard, the fortress, and Nafplio - were excellent and a nice change of pace from other sites. The vineyards people, facility, and wine tasting was especially enjoyable. The Mercedes vehicle was very comfortable. Overall, a relaxing and interesting day! Highly recommend!

Irene was great! Naturally, in seeing so much of grease, you spend a lot of time in the car – but with Irene, she made the journey so enjoyable. We talked about the history of Greece, the unique aspects of each region, and even Greek culture. A really cool way to learn more and see more of Greece. The winery was absolutely beautiful.

You’re in good hands with Manos! His descriptions and explanations of what you’re about to experience really ties everything together. Manos is also super accommodating to any reasonable request. I’m no sommelier, but those wines were bomb af! I was in awe standing over the canal. Wow!!

My husband and I booked this tour last minute and it ended up being one of our favorites from our 3 weeks in Greece! The town of Nafplio alone is worth the trip, but the wine tasting and the Corinth Canal are the bonus. But the best thing about this trip was our driver, George.
