Great car ride, but you don’t need a guide to Abu Simbel

The ride was great. The driver was on time, the car was spotless, and it was a super comfortable ride with a nice young man who spoke English. We had a guide, but we did not need one. They don’t let guides into the temples, so they spend 10 minutes telling you what you will see and then moving you from place to place in this very small site—a book would have been suffucient. Adding the guide only made us feel rushed through. The guide suggested a local place for lunch that we might not have found, and it was delicious, but also upcharged.

Ho scelto di partire alle 9.00 e alle 12.30, quando arrivato, c’era poca gente (tutti i bus partono a 4.30-5.30). Non fa caldissimo perché il lago mitiga. Driver e guida molto professionali. Abu Simbel bellissimo.
