Itinerary

Depart from your Arequipa hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan to begin your journey into the verdant heart of the Peruvian countryside. Begin in the picturesque district of Paucarpata, where traditional farming methods are still implemented; listen to your guide’s captivating commentary as you gain insight into agricultural methods dating back to the Inca period.

Head south to the Sabandia District to visit the 18th century Sabandia Mil (El Molino de Sabandia); digest interesting information about the mill’s pivotal role in the surrounding villages’ survival then admire the structure’s picturesque perimeter.Next, journey to the village of Huasacache for the Founder’s Mansion, a grand colonial home once owned by Arequipa’s founder, Garcí Manuel de Carbajal. Admire antique furniture and classic art in the opulent rooms as your guide provides interesting commentary.

Return to your minivan for the scenic journey along Via Paisajista to the district of Tingo, a charming former summer resort situated on the banks of the Chili River. I was especially impressed that both our guide and our driver were women as we were 2 women traveling alone. Our guide was very informative and we were able to see parts of the Arequipa area that would have been difficult to navigate as we (unfortunately) are not fluent in Spanish. It was a wonderful half day tour!

Amazing one on one tour through the rural portions of Arequipa. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The group went over and above to provide a great experience. I would highly recommend.
