Poor Guides; Not Recommended

This tour is overwhelmingly a car ride, for a few stops. The Condor Crossing is definitely the highlight of the day. The tour guide, however, is what made the experience so poor for my husband and I. She aggressively policed people's language without prompting, offered non-stop political opinions, and provided a lot of inaccurate information. The bulk of her historical information was rooted in fallacious logic, from counterfactuals to overgeneralizations to straw man arguments, and was just plain inaccurate in several cases. As historians, it was disheartening to see her support so many historical fallacies and myths, and disparage our profession. Then she went on a long rant that no one asked for, defending genocidal leaders and we were forced to sit there held captive. She also clearly hated being a guide, as she constantly would preemptively yell at the group for things that annoyed her that no one had done. My husband asks so many questions of our guides and typically enjoys the experience, but he was so afraid of her that he didn't ask a single question.
