It was raining the whole time which made the experience difficult but my guide was very nice and found us a backup spot to eat in!

    Clementine is a SUPERSTAR!

Great experience! Clementine is a SUPERSTAR! The tour ended up being just for my wife and me. We were the only two that booked a tour that day and we certainly would have understood if Viator cancelled the tour, since it was only us two, but Clementine showed up and did an outstanding job. The food was great, the conversation was easy, and the knowledge she shared with us was exceptional. She even sent a ton of helpful information to my wife by email with suggestions of itinerary for the rest of our trip through France. CLEMENTINE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND!

    Excellent Food Tour in Aix-en-Provence

We had a wonderful mid-day tour with Tomas on Market day in Aix. He has a genuine love of quality local foods. We were treated to learn about what makes certain foods special and what to look for. We tasted many delicious locally produced foods. If given an option, Tomas is one of the best food guides we have had.

    Great experience

    Delicious, yet disorganized

    Izzy_I, Aug 2025
Our guide, Aza, didn’t show up until right at 11 which left us wondering if we were in the right place for sometime. We felt as if we got to know what food was good in the area, but we didn’t get any history really on the city or the region or what makes those foods special to Provence. I also felt that doing the tour in English and French was a huge waste of time, half of the tour was translating between one or the other. The market was also a let down, because we got to try the honey but that was it. I was really looking forward to potentially hearing more about it from the vendors or sampling the produce, it was late August when we were there so peak season for this. When then went into a bakery where she raved about the cake, but we didn’t get to try it, so it left me longing. The tour climaxed with a picnic lunch in an alley way. Like things were almost knocked off several times. While I did enjoy the food, especially the aperitif. We didn’t have anywhere to sit, that was kind of a buzzkill. Instead of having any history of the food or explanation of Provençal food, the tour guide spent the entire time asking me and my friend about our jobs in the US. That also kinda threw us off. We ended up having to leave the tour slightly early due to a scheduling issue on our end and she was extremely accommodating of that. I would say overall we did enjoy it, but I would not recommend.

    Come hungry!

Tom is an expert in what makes the provincial food special. He guided us through the packed streets of Aix en Provence on a most busy Saturday during the market to taste scrumptious treats from sellers of everything including truffles to ice cream. He knows everybody, and he knows the origins and history behind the development of each product. He was also very careful to alternate speaking in both French and English to accommodate his clients. The only thing I would have recommended is a small speaker or megaphone since there were 10 or 12 of us as this was a popular tour. It was good to take it during lunchtime however, the market in the streets were packed. Perhaps that was because we were there during the first week of August. The market closes at 1 PM so the timing of a tour from 11 to 130 works out beautifully. He was a great guide and this is a worthy experience.

    The best taste of AIX!

    Kimberly_G, Jun 2025
Thomas was absolutely amazing and this was one of the best tours I have ever taken. We wandered with purpose from one delicious taste to the next. We received history of the area, history of the food, and laughed and ate from one end of Aix to the other. Cannot wait to be back again! Bravo!!

    Best way to explore Aix-en-Provence

    Laura_J, Feb 2025
Had an absolutely wonderful tour of Aix-en-Provence with several delicious food tastings while learning about the area, the architecture, and the lifestyle in the South of France. Learned about the area famous for its lavender, soap making, wine and olives, as well as Cezanne and how things operated back in the day. My guide, Anya, was fantastic!!! She is a creative artist major and marvelously answered all of my questions about the styles of buildings, materials used on roadways, food recommendations and more. She was the best!! Thank you Anya for a great tour!!

Cindy was a very knowledgable guide. We had a small group and thoroughly enjoyed our food tour. Delicious aperitifs in a beautiful peaceful area at a local fountain.

    A+ for foodies

    Teresa_M, Sep 2024
We love food tours and this tour was excellent. We are in Provence for a month from Nashville, Tenn USA and find food tours a great way to learn about a region. We give this tour 5 stars. Our guide, Thomas, was infectious with his enthusiasm for local foods. He shared many interesting and fun details of his own life growing up in the Aix area which made this tour a real treat for us We had a lot to eat and good variety. We were not a fan on the fountain location for sampling foods but we loved the mini meal we had there. Lots of good stops.

    Awesome food tour!

    Joanie_L, Sep 2024
Thomas was an exceptional guide! He clearly loves food and shared a great deal of knowledge about regional food culture. He also gave wonderful recs for later and we enjoyed more fabulous food. Unfortunately I was completely stuffed by the end and couldn’t muster more than a shared charcuterie later that day 😂 my own fault! I didn’t have to eat EVERYTHING!!! I would highly recommend this tour

Yummy tour of Aix en Provence

We had a lovely tour with Tomas! He was friendly, informative, and gave great local recommendations. Highly recommend!

    Tasty and rustic

    Michele_Y, Sep 2024
A little disorganized at the start, just trying to figure out who our guide was. She was surprised by an unplanned group of 6 that made 14 in our tour. Very rustic to eat in the alleyway without seating. The good were interesting and tasty. Loved the pan bagnat. Our guide Cindy was very good after the rough start. Everyone enjoyed the ice cream at the end.

    Great visit to Aix markets

    rebecca_b, Sep 2024
we had a great tour with Thomas who introduced our group (6 in all) to some of the less well known Provencal foods including many things at the local market. I especially liked sampling the various chevre's. Thomas was knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure everybody's tastes were accommodated.

    Nice experience

    Kim_K, Sep 2024
Very good experience and a nice way to taste Aix’s specialties. We enjoyed walking and getting the food along the way. We would suggest including wine and beer if the client wants to purchase.

An incredible food tour of Aix en Provence with Naomie

    Rebecca_J, Jul 2024
Naomie did a great job introducing us to the history and culture of Aix en Provence while giving us a phenomenal food tour. She was friendly, warm and energetic. She went out of her way to get food according to a special dietary need of one of the participants, which was very much appreciated. Afterward she also sent me restaurant recommendations that I had asked for. All the food we tasted was delicious and I was grateful for this chance to learn all about the foodie scene in Aix en Provence, Merci Naomie!

    Wonderful Food Tour!

    VANESSA_H, Jul 2024
This was such a rich, wholesome experience with Thomas, our lovely tour guide who took us around Aix en Provence, explaining the history of the city and of course explaining the food that comes from this region. He even sent a list of recommendations and pictures that he captured of us during the tour. We started off with a tasty treat (sweet brioche bread) from Maison Bechard and then we went to the farmers market and collected some provencal spreads and olives. After a few more bakeries we broke bread at the fountain and then the tour continued, with another stop to a candy store to buy callisons, and then we ate a tasty Pain Bagnat followed by the most delicious gelato and waffle. This tour was top quality and Thomas' genuine enthusiasm was felt. Thank you, I highly recommend this tour!!

    Fab food tour

    Willa_M, Jul 2024
Thomas was a wonderful guide, he provided great information & stopped at excellent venues. From goats cheese to sweet delicacies.

    Wonderful variety of delicious food

    Barbara_B, Jul 2024
What I enjoyed the most about the food tour with Thomas was the way he guided us through the charming, narrow, less crowded streets. He was thoughtful, funny and very knowledgeable of the food and the area. And then there’s the food! It was all delicious! Plus he sent us his recommendation for restaurants, which we did visit later. Excellent. Thank you Thomas!
