This was a fabulous food tour. Inga was amazing taking us to great places to sample the cuisine of Axe. She told great stories and pointed out landmarks. We highly recommend this tour. It absolutely worth it.

Food tour was great! Inga was an amazing guide and took us to such cool places! A must-do to eat traditional food from the region.

A wander round the beautiful city taking in historic sites on the way to four different eateries. Truffles, charcuterie, traditional and delicious desserts

food tour on a hot day

stanislav_n, Jul 2025
Renaud is knowledgeable, pleasant, speaking excellent English and very perceptive to our needs. On the very hot day he led us through shadowy streets and talked about history and food. Highly recommended!

Disappointing at best

Marlin_M, Jul 2025
I would rate this the poorest tour we have experienced. We book these experiences to gain knowledge of the local / regional history, cuisine, and how the people here eat. We learned none of that. Our first stop was in a truffle shop where our guide left us and the shop owner attempted to sell us every product on her shelves. Our next stop was in a touristy plaza where we had charcuterie. There was no explanation of where the pork was sourced or what was unique about it. We could have ordered it at any bistro along the way.. Our last stop did provide a delicious dish that we found unique. We liked it enough to return a couple days later and order it ourselves. Our guide, while pleasant, seemed like she wasn’t present. We learned much about her personal life and family but, unfortunately, next to nothing about Aix, Provence, or the people here.

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. Please rest assured that we are committed to sharing the best of our beautiful city and its local culinary scene with our guests every day. That said, we’re very pleased to know that you enjoyed the restaurant we recommended and even chose to return on your own, it really is a lovely place. Regarding the square you mentioned, Aix-en-Provence is a small city, and that particular spot is one of its historic and well-loved locations, often appreciated for its charm and local atmosphere including the traditional charcuterie stop. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future.

Great Introduction to Aix

Jozefine_D, Jun 2025
It was a great tour to do at the very beginning of stay, giving some good orientation and helpful insights as to where to shop for food, as we stayed in an apartment while in Aix. Tour guide very helpful, knowledgeable and open to answering all our questions.

Great introduction for us. A good survey of food and culture. Took time to answer questions and did not rush

Food and fun!

Herbert_G, May 2025
Fantastic and fun. Very enjoyable, our guide was a wealth of knowledge, food and history are always a winning combo.

Wonderful!!!

Larry_L, May 2025
We had a WONDERFUL tour today with Inga. She is fun, charming, very knowledgeable, and she seems to know everyone in town. We truly felt we were walking around town with a personal friend. We highly, highly recommend her to anyone looking for a good (and yummy) tour through Aix-en-Provence!

Thais was wonderful!

Mark_P, May 2025
Thais was a wonderful guide! She showed us much more than just good places to eat. She was very knowledgeable about Provence and its history. She was very personable and made the tour a lot of fun. I would highly recommend it.

Great for company, very average food

Jekaterina_T, Apr 2025
Inga is a great guide and we had a really nice time with her. However, as this is a food tour, then our expectations were a bit higher on the food side. The food we had was average and you could have had a better experience with taking the same sum and roaming around the market. There are also probably better restaurants in Aix than the ones that we visited. Our suggestion for the tour makers to be to maybe consider doing the same thing at the market and the guide can help people with French that can be quite intimidating :) To conclude, if you want a great gastronomy experience, you could create one yourself with a little bit of research.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback—we truly appreciate all comments as they help us reflect and continue improving our tours. However, in this case, we feel your review doesn’t fully reflect the experience we offered, especially the one you had with Inga, who is widely praised for her knowledge and warmth. The type of food experience you are suggesting—one based solely in the market—is indeed a valid and enjoyable way to explore local gastronomy. However, it's important to note that markets are not open every day and 24h24 ( in your case you choose our evening tour starting at 5.pm ), and they do not always allow for a complete, seated meal experience. Our tour, by contrast, is designed to offer a curated journey through some of the best local establishments—ranging from a top restaurant to several carefully selected stops, all run by passionate local food professionals. While it's true that anyone can create their own food adventure, language and local knowledge can make a big difference. One of the key values of our tour is not just the food, but the cultural and historical context we provide—something you might not easily access at the market, even with fluent French. Our guides, including Inga, offer insights into the city’s history and stories that go far beyond what most vendors can share in a casual setting. We’re genuinely sorry the tour didn’t meet your expectations and understand that your personal preference may have leaned more toward a market-style experience. We hope that despite this, you still took away some enjoyable moments from the day.

Great tour guide, wanted more Provencal foods

Elizabeth_T, Oct 2024
Inga was great, we really enjoyed our time with her. For future tours, it would be great if the company chose stops that provided Aixois or Provencal specialities.

Great experience on this food tour

Debbie_H, Oct 2024
Great half day with lovely guide and group!! Delicious lunch, food, drinks and treats along the way! Fun way to see the city and explore while enjoying fun camaraderie with fellow guests… and yes, met a woman who I attended high school with many (not sharing # of years!) years ago l!!

Excellent tour of Provence with Sophie

Tom_D, Oct 2024
Sophie was a wonderful guide for our group. She shared a lot of knowledge about the food, history, and architecture. Very easy going and answered all our questions.

Experience will depend on the guide you get!!!

Sangita_D, Oct 2024
We had Inga - all the places we ate at were very good…..her style was chaotic and incoherent - she knew nothing about Provencal cuisine vs the rest of france - she was unfamiliar with Aix restaurants, boulangeries, pattiseries, etc - she just didn’t have any “locals” info - It was all stuff we already knew based in our own research…..the worst part was she talked abt herself, her kids, her divorce, where she was from, her friends, her everything….thank god for the other people in the group with us - we all had a great time with each other - the guide was a complete waste of time and money!!🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Thank you for your message. We appreciate your feedback and will certainly take it into consideration. However, after working closely with our guide for several years, we feel compelled to address the inaccuracies in your comments and defend her character and professional reputation. As you would have seen during your time with her, she is a highly respected chef, with a long-standing presence in the Provencal culinary scene. She has been a key figure in both Aix and Marseille, contributing not only her culinary expertise but also her deep knowledge of the region, which she chose to make her home after moving to France. Her passion and dedication are evident to those who have experienced her work, and we encourage you to look at the over 300 positive reviews from customers who have enjoyed unforgettable moments thanks to her efforts. We were particularly concerned by your comments regarding her private life. Out of respect for her privacy, we typically do not discuss personal matters, and it’s important to remember that, as a human being, she may choose to share parts of her life when she feels comfortable. To expose those personal details in the manner you have is disappointing and misleading. It’s vital to approach such situations with empathy and understanding. We found your remarks to be both disrespectful and not reflective of the professional, caring individual we know our guide to be. We hope this response clears up any misunderstandings.

Great time!

Charles_C, Oct 2024
My wife and I had a great time on the food tour with Inga! Would definitely recommend it- we loved that the tour also involved walking around the City so we had a chance to get a feel for Aix! Thanks Inga!

A “Get together” the Provence way!

Maria_S, Sep 2024
It was a fabulous experience!!!! The food and wine was wonderful. Inga, our tour guide was so genuine and so much fun! The greatest part was how she made everyone so comfortable that as a group we ended up sharing great stories and having the most enjoyable time!

Delicious tasting in Aix

daniel_s, Sep 2024
Each dish and wine that we tasted in Aix was delicious! We appreciated Inga’s enthusiasm and description of the foods we tasted.

Carrie_M, Sep 2024
Anouk was a terrific tour guide. She provided information about the history of Aix and the food traditions. Our food tastings exceeded our expectations, we were too full for dinner that night!

Great food tour with Inga!

Erica_Y, Aug 2024
Inga was a great tour guide! We had just arrived the night before, so she helped to welcome and orient us in Aix. She gave us a great restaurant recommendation for the next day, too!

Wonderful tour, 10/10 recommend

STEPHANIE_B, Aug 2024
Would give six stars if I could. I cannot recommend this tour or the tour guide Inga highly enough. Aix is obviously a foodie’s paradise and it would be easy to enjoy it by yourself, but going with a group of people who have the same interests makes it much more fun. Our tour guide was very friendly, made all of us feel welcomed, was knowledgeable and we felt we could have spent several days not just a few hours learning about this beautiful place that she clearly loves too. The information given prior to booking said that lunch was provided, but my goodness it was a moving feast that also included wine. You’ll absolutely not be hungry after this! If you’ve only got a few hours in Aix, or even if you’re staying a few days and you want to learn more alongside of others, this is the tour for you. We would 100% do this again.

A Foodies Dream Tour

Jo_T, Aug 2024
First of all, Inga was a great guide and really knows her food! We were lucky enough to be the only two people that day, so we had a "private tour"; however, I am sure Inga would be just a great a guide with a larger group. We learned alot about Aix en Provence and about the food in southern France. Inga even recommended some restaurants we might want to try for dinner. This was a great way to start our vacation!

Fun tour

Holly_P, Jun 2024
We had a great tour with Inga. She was super friendly and seemed to know everyone in town. The food was also delicious. Thanks!

Super! Wonderful guide! Awesome food!

Sharon_B, Jun 2024
Our guide, Inga, was fabulous! Enthusiastic, informed, had relationships with our foodie hosts! We were offered multiple glasses of wine, many food selections and pastries. Be sure not to have any breakfast if your tour is early in the day!
