Amazing tour with Pavel...
Amazing tour with Pavel (our guide) and Danil (our driver)! The tour is such a good value for money! You will cover so much stuff in a day it is unbelievable. The food / lunch has been changed from the previous badly reviewed buffet - it's now a 7 course Oaxacan tasting menu in a newly built restaurant. It's $420 currently but it's well worth the money as you get to try a bunch of different dishes. They were happy to adjust to both Vegetarian and Vegan members in our group. They took card when we went too. We didn't feel pressured to buy from the Rug place at all but it was a great experience and many people from our group did get something just because they were so cool. All in all, great your. Would recommend.

Don’t miss this!
Truly one of the highlights of my trip. Adhey and her family were kind, fun, helpful, informative and patient. The recipes we learned were delicious, authentic, and entirely possible to replicate at home (though without the awesome setup she has at her house). The entire experience was a delight. We cooked, ate, drank, sang songs, and learned about the beautiful Mixtec and Zapotec culinary traditions. Everyone who visits Oaxaca should take this class!

Plan for a very long full day for this event. Herve el Agua is very beautiful in a serene setting with stunning views out across the valley. The hike can be challenging because of the steep descent (~1,000 stairs) but the way to the bottom of the formation is on secure steps and paths that are manageable. The cool mineral pools are very refreshing to swim on your return. Our guide was so knowledgeable and had very many cultural and archaeological insights.

Excellent!
Our guide Alfredo was excellent, very knowledgeable, definitely enjoys his job. The content and the experience was excellent and I highly recommend it. Just a note to the planners, the end of the day kind of dragged on with multiple repetitive toasts, too much standing around, and waiting for the bus to leave. The tour could be about an hour shorter. Also something to nosh on while we are tasting the many mezcals would be great, instead of a huge heavy meal at the end of the day. The tour company surprised us with a band during our lunch, which was so lovely and special, but they played so loud none of us could have any conversation. I was sad I could not hear what people were saying could not continue speaking with the people at my table.

Many travelers agree that if you only have time to visit one place in Mexico, it should be Oaxaca. The state has some of the country’s most iconic food—from its seven types of mole to flaky tlayudas (stuffed tortillas)—plus inspiring natural beauty and colorful architecture. Oaxaca tours let you explore like an expert, whether tasting street food in Oaxaca City or discovering the Monte Albán ruins. You can also learn to make mezcal on a plantation, marvel at a petrified waterfall, or head to the coast for surfing lessons.
