Great tour guide! Positive and knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. It was very hot and crowded when we went. We did have a couple of people on our tour who had to drop out along the way as it was too strenuous for them in the heat. Our guide strived to find shady spots to give us information. These are ruins. Be prepared for stairs and uneven grounds and carry water!

Lots of walking. Great tour guide. Standing where gladiators stood.. so much to see. You need s a few days
Leticia_R, Jul 2026
The tour was absolutely fantastic. Our guide Sophia (9:45am group 4) was amazing. She knew her history and was so knowledgeable. She was also super sweet and had some jokes that made us laugh.
Keith_P, Jul 2026
Bogdan did a great job showing us all the best parts of the colosseum and Palantine Hill. Highly recommended!!
Raymund_L, Jul 2026

Daniel was our guide and he did a wonderful job with our tour. Very detailed information, he had a fun and great personality, we had so much fun!
Brachelle_Z, Jul 2026
We had a fantastic experience on this tour! Daniel was our guide, and he was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the history of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill come to life with interesting stories and facts. The tour was well organized, the pace was comfortable. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the incredible views. I would highly recommend this tour—and if you get Daniel as your guide, you’re in great hands!

Kate was great! It was hot, but she kept us in the shade as much as possible. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. It was a great way to start off our vacation.
Anelyn_T, Jul 2026
Great for Rome first timers and repeaters alike. My husband is an avid Roman history buff and still got so much out of the 3h tour.
Kimberly_G, Jul 2026
Kate was patient, informative and knowledgeable.
We learned so much from this tour.
Thank You for making this excursion memorable
Rebekah_S, Jul 2026
Fabulous!!!!!! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. She gave us breaks as needed and knew everything about the sites we were seeing.
Erin_A, Jul 2026
Our guide Bogden was excellent, he was fun and funny and looked after us well. Lots of awesome information and being on the arena floor was excellent. We weren't able to complete the Palatine Hill tour because the heat hit our daughter a bit hard - we did the 2:30 time slot and I would recommend earlier in the morning or past 3pm if possible in summer. The sun and heat was brutal.
Kristin_S, Jul 2026
Kate was absolutely the best guide! She was so knowledgeable about the history and the archaeological area. She did a fantastic job of interjecting interesting facts with fun anecdotal stories. The information was just fascinating. However, one thing she did that went above and beyond was to make sure to check in with the group to pause for water and restrooms (3-hour tour on a 100-degree day), and made sure the various comfort levels of the group were considered. I cannot recommend this tour enough; it was one of the favorites of our entire trip to Rome. Hope you get Kate as your guide!
Anna_E, Jul 2026
The tour was great! The guide was very knowledgeable, funny, and interesting, great story teller. We all learn a lot and were captivated by the history and stories, despite 99F. The tour was a way to go since there are not much explanations in the Colosseum and Roman Forum so unless you know a lot or read and prepare on your own before visiting, you not always know what you are looking at. Meeting point was easy to find.
Michelle_S, Jul 2026
Wish we had started with the colosseum. It was hot and Nina tried to keep us shaded. She was very knowledgeable! There was a family that kept holder her up. I wish there were adults only tours!
Stephen_M, Jul 2026
Great comprehensive tour of both the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, including the Arena Floor option. Davida was a superb guide, telling us everything, while also helping find shade and rest spots in the 96° heat.
Jasmina_T, Jul 2026
Excellent tour. Well paced. Our guide was very knowledgable and the skip the line ticket was definatelty worthwhile!
Jennifer_C, Jul 2026
Gina did a great job with the tour. She ensured everyone was alright while it was very hot. She also brought a lot of energy throughout. My children were engaged and learned a lot.
Ann_K, Jul 2026
This is a very informative and comprehensive tour. We especially appreciated our tour guide for stopping in the shade for longer explanations and allowing time for questions and photos.
Nancy_G, Jul 2026
Excellent! Our guide Marco was phenomenal! Very knowledgeable. He took good care of everyone! Would highly recommend.
Rebecca_J, Jul 2026
Was a great experience. More than I thought it would be. It’s mostly outside so if it’s warm like it was for us “ 94” be sure to bring a parasol and misting fan. There are lots of place to refill your water bottle, so bring one. The history was fascinating. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Manisha_S, Jul 2026
Ver knowledgeable n good pace. Tiatiana made sure she takes all inputs and give good information through.
Nancy_M, Jul 2026
Amazing scenery and history. The tour we booked was for English speakers and while our guide was very knowledgeable, unfortunately we found her difficult to understand.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are so glad you were able to experience the incredible history and scenery of the Colosseum and Roman Forum, and that you appreciated how knowledgeable your guide was.
We are sorry to hear that you had trouble understanding the commentary at times. While all of our local guides are fluent in English, navigating busy open-air historical sites with surrounding crowd noise can sometimes make accents a bit more challenging to follow. Clear communication is extremely important to us, so we have brought your feedback directly to our Rome Operations Manager to work with our guiding team on pacing and audio projection.
Thank you again for traveling with us, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure in the future.
Ken_L, Jul 2026
Tour was easy to find and got checked in. Tour guide was really knowledgeable of the area and gave lots of interesting insights into the Colosseum and surrounding areas. It was hot and tour guide did his best to keep us in the shade.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you, Ken!
We are glad the check in was easy and that your guide gave you such interesting insights into the Colosseum while doing his best to keep everyone comfortable in the shade. Navigating these massive ancient ruins with an expert is the best way to beat the heat and the crowds. Please tell your friends and family to look up The Tour Guy when they plan their next big trip!
Lisa_V, Jun 2026
Great experience! Upon arrival, we received a text helping us locate our guide. Once in the correct spot, we were taken on a wonderful tour with our guide who was extremely knowledgeable. It was hot, but our guide found plenty of shady spots and water refill locations. A must do while in Rome!
Response from Host, Jul 2026

Janet_K, Jun 2026
The things that we saw were very interesting and worth the tour, however our particular guide was so fast, both walking and talking, that we could barely catch what she was saying most of the time. We also found ourselves constantly speed walking to keep up with her which unfortunately left us with very little time to stop and take in the sights or take photos.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hi Janet,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are glad to hear you found the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill interesting and worth the visit. However, we want our guests to comfortably absorb the history, so we are sorry to hear that the pace felt too rushed for you to take photos and enjoy the sights. Our tours cover a lot of ground, but finding the right balance is key. I have shared your comments with our Rome Operations Manager to ensure our guides maintain a manageable pace for everyone. We hope to welcome you back for a more relaxed adventure in the future.
Irina_S, Jun 2026
We had an amazing guide Michele and the history unfolded in front of our eyes. The crowds and heat dissipated and it was just a wonderful story start to finish. Thank you!
