Excellent Day of Sightseeing!

I really appreciated the advice I received before this tour. It helped me choose the best way to spend our time. My husband and I spent the day with Rui, an excellent tour guide and driver. Very personable, easy to understand, and incredibly knowledgeable. We saw Pena Palace (outside; no way we would’ve stood in the insane line to go inside), then to the town of Sintra for lunch, on to Monserrate Palace (beautiful grounds!) and ended at Cabo da Roca. It was a pleasure to be able to be picked up mid-morning at our hotel and have our own dedicated tour guide and driver.

Worth every penny!

This was absolutely worth every penny we spent!! Pedro G picked us up at our hotel and we had a pleasant drive to Sintra where he explained monuments and history that we passed. We started our Sintra visit off with the local pastry "travesseiro" at Casa Piriquita, a bakery that started in 1862. A delicious way to be welcomed into our day of adventuring. After admiring & learning about the National Palace, we headed to our timed entry into Quinta da Regaleira. Pedro G had great insights into the property's history and how it came to be today. Afterwards, we headed to a delicious Portuguese lunch at Tasca Saloia. We enjoyed local Portuguese "vinho verde" and "chourico" - charred chorizo at your table! This gave us plenty of energy to tackle the Pena Palace - which Pedro G navigated for us wonderfully. We ended our day with extra time at Cascais, since weather prevented an enjoyable trip to Boca do Inferno. In addition to the wonderful sights & tastes of this small slice of Portugal, Pedro G was an excellent tour guide with great insights, patience with our many questions, and pleasant company on our tour. After watching very large, slightly impersonal tour groups around Sintra - we were so thankful to have our friend Pedro G showing us around! We cannot recommend this tour's value highly enough. Obrigado!

Best way to explore Sintra in a short time. Our guide Daniela was excellent and made it a very smooth experience. All logistics were taken care of comfortably. Both castles are beautiful. Sintra center was also a joy, there we walked both ways to the small castle at the end, which was really worth it.

If you’re visiting Portugal and planning to explore the country, you absolutely need to book with Miguel! He was incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and thorough from start to finish. From the moment we booked our full-day Sintra tour, Miguel was on top of everything, communicating with us to confirm all the details, including our start time and pickup location. Once the tour began, he was fantastic! He shared so much knowledge, history, and fun facts about every location we visited or passed along the way, making the entire experience that much more enjoyable. As an added bonus, you also get your own personal photographer! Miguel made sure our entire group got amazing photos at all the best photo spots, so we could capture the memories together. He also seemed to know everyone at each stop, which allowed us to bypass the lines and make the most of our time. It was clear that Miguel had put a lot of thought into every little detail, from the order of the itinerary to finding ways to minimize unnecessary walking. Everything was so well planned, allowing us to see as much as possible while making the day feel seamless and stress-free. I truly cannot recommend Miguel enough! Perfect guide-very personable and knowledgeable

We were told not to miss Pena Palace in Sintra and so glad we explored it. Ricardo was so right in telling us that the best part was the outside and that we did not need to go inside. Walking around on the walkways, up the steps and through the palace was perfect! Also, since my husband and I as well as our friends are in relatively good physical shape, Ricardo recommended that we walk through the forest to the palace. This was a beautiful walk! On the way to the palace, Ricardo stopped for us to look at the outside of some beautiful houses and Biester Palace. Ricardo recommended a family restaurant for lunch. Later we went to a vista to see where Madonna used to live as well as other palaces. Then off to the most western point of Europe for a photo op. The next stop was Cascais where the marina is beautiful! The only negative was that the van was older and the side window did not totally shut so with the wind coming in, it was difficult to hear Ricardo talk while he was driving. On the way back to Lisbon, Ricardo drove through Belem-a place that I had wanted to visit but there was not enough time. He pointed out the highlights of the city. We had a lovely day!

A Great tour guide elevates the experience

It does involve uphill and downhill walking to and from the Pena Palace, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Bernardo was a very knowledgeable, accommodating and pleasant tour guide. He was extremely well informed about every aspect of the Palace, but he was also succinct and could clearly elucidate his thoughts.

Vasco pulled out all the stops on this private tour. He owns the tour company Cazzulu Travel at Cazzulu.com which specializes in these tours as well as all types of travel experiences and trip planning in Portugal and Spain especially finding ways to highlight places not seen by tourists. He is amazingly knowledgeable and his passion shows through as he taught us about the history and culture. He lives in Sintra with his family so during our all day tour he not only seemed to know everyone, but he is a local and he knew the back ways and shortcuts. He took us to a most delicious restaurant for lunch with locals. He was very accommodating.. We certainly hope to work with him again.

Sintra is a must see

We had a fabulous day visiting Sintra. Jorge picked us up at our hotel in Lisbon and we drove us to Sonya. On the way he pointed out sights and the history around them. The weather was very misty, so we didn’t have great views but that didn’t dampen our experience. Jorge was very helpful with navigating the tour experience at Pena castle and we loved our time viewing the exterior and the amazing grounds. Next to the village of Sintra for lunch and shopping. All in all a very wonderful experience!!

Exceptional from start to finish

Our driver, Tiago, was absolutely amazing. He was friendly, professional, and an excellent driver who made us feel completely safe and comfortable throughout the day. We were a bit unsure of what we wanted to do at first, but Tiago was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, helping us design the perfect itinerary on the fly. And gave us tips and tricks and recommendations in each village we stopped in. Highly recommend and having done it it’s the only way to see Sintra.
