A Great tour guide elevates the experience

It does involve uphill and downhill walking to and from the Pena Palace, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Bernardo was a very knowledgeable, accommodating and pleasant tour guide. He was extremely well informed about every aspect of the Palace, but he was also succinct and could clearly elucidate his thoughts.

Seeing Sintra with Giovana

We took the private tour to Sintra, Pena, Palace, and Cascais from Lisbon. . Our private tour became a shared tour with our permission and we ended up enjoying making two new friends from Florida. Our guide and driver, Giovana, did an excellent job of navigating the hilly switchback mountain roads to get us to Sintra on the day that the Iron Man competition was being held! We saw all of the spots on the itinerary (except for Cascais, which was apparently the site of the IronMan activities). Giovana is personable, knowledgeable, professional, and just fun to be with. Highly recommend!

Our tour with Nuno was great!! He is knowledgeable, very friendly & personable! When we mentioned that we were driving to Porto, he even gave us some restaurant tips along the way, as well as some recommendations in Lisbon! The Pena Palace was beautiful & we got there before the crowds. Nuno recommended skipping the inside of the palace since only 4-5 rooms inside are open to the public and the wait time to get inside is very long. He dropped us off in the town of Sintra, recommended a pastry shop & told us to take some time shopping. We didn’t feel rushed at all!

He owns the tour company Cazzulu Travel at Cazzulu.com which specializes in these tours as well as all types of travel experiences and trip planning in Portugal and Spain especially finding ways to highlight places not seen by tourists. He is amazingly knowledgeable and his passion shows through as he taught us about the history and culture. He lives in Sintra with his family so during our all day tour he not only seemed to know everyone, but he is a local and he knew the back ways and shortcuts. He took us to a most delicious restaurant for lunch with locals. He was very accommodating.. We certainly hope to work with him again.

Sintra is a must see

We had a fabulous day visiting Sintra. Jorge picked us up at our hotel in Lisbon and we drove us to Sonya. On the way he pointed out sights and the history around them. The weather was very misty, so we didn’t have great views but that didn’t dampen our experience. Jorge was very helpful with navigating the tour experience at Pena castle and we loved our time viewing the exterior and the amazing grounds. Next to the village of Sintra for lunch and shopping. All in all a very wonderful experience!!

Sintra tour not to be missed

The tour of Sintra was amazing and not to be missed. The tour guide, Bart, was the best guide I have ever experienced! He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of all the castles/palaces (he should be a history professor). Best of all, he is an amazing person, and he made everything so interesting and he is just a pleasure to be with. Make sure to request Bart if you are going on a tour of Sintra!!!

The best tour ever!

This was the best tour we had while visiting Portugal. When we signed up expectation was that we had a driver for the day but we had so much more than that. Diogo,(I am not sure if that is how you spell his name, but he was the absolute best. He was a very informative tour guide. He took us to all of the places to see, he was extremely flexible and really catered to our group. He went above and beyond in every way! This reviews is not really giving him the credit that he deserves because he really was the absolute best. If I am ever back in Portugal I would ask for him for every tour! So if you go and you want, not just a driver but the best tour guide, ask for him. It was worth every penny!

Exceptional from start to finish

Our driver, Tiago, was absolutely amazing. He was friendly, professional, and an excellent driver who made us feel completely safe and comfortable throughout the day. We were a bit unsure of what we wanted to do at first, but Tiago was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, helping us design the perfect itinerary on the fly. And gave us tips and tricks and recommendations in each village we stopped in. Highly recommend and having done it it’s the only way to see Sintra.
