Our guide, Max, took us all over the city. The guide the company gives is just some ideas. If you want to customize, you can within reason. The Hanoi Hilton was educational and humbling. This was a great tour for a single person. We were supposed to have 6 stops but there was so much food that I asked that we skipped one of the later venues. I loved that in one part of the tour we drove down some of the tiny back alleys. A way to see another side of the city. Recommended.

A Wonderful Day in Ninh Binh with Ricky and Hoa

I had a wonderful time with our excellent guide, Ricky, and our driver, Hoa. The tour included Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and Temple, village cycling, a beautiful Vietnamese lunch buffet, a 1.5-hour Tam Coc bamboo boat trip, and the Mua Cave hiking experience. Every activity was very fulfilling, and I was able to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery both physically and mentally. It was truly an amazing tour. Our guide, Ricky, taught us about the history and stories behind each place, as well as Vietnamese culture. His explanations were very interesting, enjoyable, and informative. After the Mua Cave hike, they prepared nicely chilled water for us on the bus, which felt incredibly refreshing. I also really appreciated that they gave us frequent toilet breaks. The buffet lunch was very delicious, and I enjoyed many kinds of Vietnamese dishes in a comfortable restaurant. I joined the tour by myself, so I was a little nervous at first. However, Ricky and Hoa were both very cheerful and friendly, and they created such a welcoming atmosphere that it was easy to interact with others. Thanks to them, I was also able to meet some wonderful new friends during the tour. I had been staying in Hanoi for about a month, but this was my first time joining a tour. After having such a fulfilling experience, I honestly wished I had joined one earlier. When I come back to Hanoi, I would love to join the same tour again. I had a truly wonderful day. Thank you so much!

Such a nice day trip from hotel pickup to drop off. Our guide is so funny and full of energy. He gave us great information about Vietnam history and local folklores. He made a video for everyone for today's trip with "hello vietnam" as backgroup music. It was so good. Ninh Binh is beautiful. This guide make the whole trip even better. If you’re trying to figure out what Ninh Binh day trip to take, go with Aloha Travel. Our tour guide, Phong, spoke excellent English, had a great sense of humor, and kept the day moving. He gave great information about both history and culture. Many thanks for his hospitality and professionalism. The pickup at our hotel was right on time. The van held 9 passengers. Each person had their own seat, with easily accessible plugs for charging. The free WiFi was some of the best we’ve had! We were also offered bottles of water twice during the trip. There was plenty of room for our backpacks, which we were able to leave on the bus while we toured. The trip out of the city was about two hours. About halfway along the route, we stopped at a government rest stop. It had clean bathrooms and a snack bar. There was also the option to purchase various crafts. The mountain climb was steep, and the stone steps were uneven the whole way. It was also quite crowded. The view was good, but not very clear. The bike ride through part of the city and into the countryside was short, but fun. The boat ride was about 1.5 hours long. The boats are metal and shallow, so not very comfortable. But the scenery is mesmerizing, and will definitely take your mind off your discomfort. You’ll get a sales pitch to buy silk embroidered pictures about halfway through, but it wasn’t very high pressure. Lunch was near the water at a local restaurant. The food was a set menu and served family style. There were both meat and vegetarian options. Overall, it was a great experience and a nice break from the city. We’ve compared notes with others who have taken the tour with other tour companies, and not all offerings are the same. This one met all of our expectations, and I would highly recommend this tour.

Booked a private day tour to Ninh Binh and had a superb time thanks to our tour guide Jason! Jason is very thoughtful, friendly and luckily he suggested to pick us up earlier from the hotel to avoid the traffic jam. My friends and I were surprised and impressed by his photography skills as well. Lunch provided was in a nice restaurant with good food. The car provided was spacious, clean and driver Wyn Wyn is great too. Overall so glad we booked this private tour!

Absolutely worthwhile, extremely good value adventure among Ha Long Bay’s gorgeous islets

Absolutely worthwhile, extremely good value adventure among Ha Long Bay’s gorgeous islets. The 3 stops included kayaking through a cave to an enclosed area with monkeys (row boats available for people with less energy), a guided walk through Surprise Cave and then Titop Island where you can either walk to the viewpoint (about 100m up, lots of steps) to enjoy fabulous views or chill on the beach. The tour itself was very well organized. Our home base was the boat Vera Cruise where we were served a delicious lunch as we left the cruise terminal. Staff were available at all times; beyond the included lunch there was a comprehensive beverage menu. Our guide Quan was great and kept us on track time-wise. The day we went was unusually crowed due to 2 big ships in town that day and the weather was overcast/hazy but we still had a fantastic time.

Great day out

We had James as our tour guide for the day and he had lots of knowledge to share with us throughout both the journey, and the activity itself. I also found him very humerous. We had a mixed range of nationalities on our bus and thankfully, they all seemed very friendly which made a change. It is hard to remember everything about that day as there was so much to learn and see, but it was a lovely trip and one I would recommend. The Glow Worms were not what I expected at all. I thought they would be a bit like our slow worms in the UK but that glowed in the dark, but they were nothing like them. They were so tiny.

Easy and beautiful

We had a great experience in Halong Bay. The bay is beautiful, and well worth the 3 hour drive from Hanoi. We were on the Sea Coral, and the crew was well organized and accommodating. The room size was huge allowing space for the kids to play, and food was great with options for both kids and adults. Planning was easy with coordination through messenger for transportation to/from the port. We highly recommend this experience.

Great way to see ha long bay.

Well organized tour lasting about 24 hours. The staff worked really hard to make everything go seamlessly. They give you an itinerary right at the very start and stick to it throughout the time. The staff were very pleasant and service oriented. The facilities were good just as they look in the photos. The food was great, the scenery speaks for itself, and the boating/kayaking/swimming/cooking class, etc.. were all good things to keep you occupied. There were small just sufficient breaks so it didn't feel rushed. I also enjoyed meeting other travelers in a setting that was small enough <50 passengers, that you got to talk to people if you wanted to do so.
