Totally worth it!

They took us to quiet and hidden places most of the time. When we were kayaking, we were the only people. The swimming, the bamboo boat ride to a cave and the fishing farm were good visits as well. Ben our tour guide was very knowledgeable and was keen to share information. He really took good care of us. Although i was wishing more time to ourselves to enjoy the beauty. Everything else was soo good! The vegan food spread was amazing.

Excellent tour

This tour was one of the best I have ever been to. We were only three people, picked up and dropped at our hotels. (Mine was not even on the list…) Our guide Anh spoke English very well and had a great eye to notice animals in the jungle. The hike was very interesting, it had everything from easy roads to quite challenging scrambling. We arrived to the Viet Hai village for a delicious lunch (that took into consideration all our dietary restrictions) and a fish massage. After that we rode to the harbour by bicycles on an easy and very scenic road. The cruise boat we boarded on was very pretty and comfy, and the Lan Ha bay, as expected, spectacular. We stopped at one place for kayaking and swimming. Finally, we returned to Catba passing by a floating village and were driven home to our hotels. As a cherry on top of the cake, Anh recorded videos throughout the day and created a short film of our adventures, all ready and Airdropped to our phone by the end of the tour. If I ever come back, I will sign up again. Much more interesting than the boat tour.

Great boat and service for overnight trip

Great service, staff food etc. I would flag this isn't a tour as such. Boat goes 45 mins to one bay and it stays there the whole time with 40-50 other boats. Everywhere is crowded for this reason so be aware if you're looking to explore off the beaten track more

Great small group cruise in less touristed places

Had an excellent 2 day cruise around Lan Ha and Ha Long Bay. Communication with the company was great, we were picked up and dropped off in Hanoi. Once on board, the activities started and were excellent- swimming, kayaking, eating, exploring small secluded beaches, and plenty of time to relax on the deck. This isn't the most luxururious boat, but its small group size and ability to take us to less travelled places makes up for it. Shout out to our guide Tony who was very helpful and very entertaining!

A once-in-a-lifetime experience I will never forget

Honestly, this was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. We started by hiking up to Radio Peak in the town center and stayed there until around 5:45 PM to watch the sunset. We were so lucky that day—the sunset was absolutely beautiful. From the top, you can see the sun slowly going down over the bay, with the fishing village behind it. It felt super peaceful and just incredibly scenic. Later, we had dinner at a floating house in the fishing village. What I really appreciated was that they contacted me in advance to ask about my diet. As a vegetarian, that made things so easy and stress-free. The food was great and everything was well prepared. After dinner, we went out to the middle of Lan Ha Bay for bioluminescent kayaking—and this was definitely the highlight for me. Even on the boat, we could already see the water glowing a little bit. But once we got into the kayak, it was just… wow. Every time we moved the paddle or touched the water, it lit up like magic—seriously like something out of Life of Pi. I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. Our guide spoke really good English and explained that we were actually quite lucky, because the water doesn’t always glow that brightly. That made the experience feel even more special. And kayaking in the dark, under a sky full of stars, was just unreal. If you’re coming to Cat Ba, especially around March or April, I 100% recommend trying this with Cat Ba Local. It’s something you really shouldn’t miss.

Loved it

The cruise itself was lovely. We upgraded to a suite and I thoroughly recommend the investment. It is beautiful and spacious and not a huge amount of money. There were plenty of activities and visits and we started straight away. The food is very good. My only complaint is that there is too much. Our guide was friendly and knowledge. I was sad to leave!

Great tour, highly recommend.

Amazing tour. Itinerary was perfect and our tour guide Tony was great. The scenery is absolutely stunning. Only negative aside from the usual tourist trap bus stops along the way (unavoidable unless you book private transport) was the food on the boat. It was the only bad food we’ve had in Vietnam. The lunches and dinner were OK but the breakfast was very bland with overcooked eggs. The staff on the boat were also pushing us out of our room at 10:15 while we were packing our bags when they said the checkout time is 10:30. They should just say 10:15. Nonetheless I would highly recommend the tour, just pack a little chilli sauce and some snacks.
