What are people saying about Edinburgh

An excellent walk through time with the knowledgeable guide that helps you understand where you stand in history
This tour was booked on a whim and it very literally was the highlight of our time in Scotland, a massive shout out to our guide Jess, if you ever have the opportunity to take this tour, TAKE IT! The feeling of literally walking back in time to learn and feel what it is it feel Edinburg in a single tour is this one here,
Jess, our guide, was exceptional, approachable, knowledgeable and simple fantastic for our family which consisted of elderly and young. Jess took the time to make sure we were all together throughout the journey and made a point of having us stand perfectly for the 1:00pm firing of the cannon, so much so even our younger child could see amongst the massive crowd that had swarmed, without Jess, this feat would not have been as appreciated as it was.
The only word of warning for this tour is the steep up hill climb but Jess our guide was very accommodating and helpful in allowing our group stay together and enjoy the tour.
10/10 would recommend and especially look for Jess.

Good Old Town history on foot
Don’t forget to bring an umbrella or a raincoat since it rained frequently and did several times during the tour; there’s not any shares of shader cover. Very interesting Tour with stories, history and cool sites. There is not too much walking & we got the history and some places we might not have found on our own and it made the whole trip more enjoyable. Great guide, Matt.

Fantastic city & country walk
It’s all walking on flat areas and also cobblestone and brick type streets. You’ll be in the weather elements so bring a jacket and an umbrella or a waterproof coat. There might be a little bit of mud. It was better than we anticipated with a great variety of history, architecture, and even countryside (city & Riverwalk). Our guide, Zander, has studied history in depth and is a great orator and storyteller. He had so many interesting things to share, he has an incredible vocabulary, and we felt such an authentic experience because of him. We loved the pace: didn’t spend too long in one place… there was a variety of topography, architecture, and history that we soaked up. Fabulous 5-star experience, in great part due to our guide.

Mark is outstanding !!!!!
Mark was our tour guide from Ireland. The gentleman was super knowledgeable and very inquisitive. His intelligence of the history and town was overwhelming and greatly appreciated. He was one of the best tour guides I have come across. He should receive all of the 5 stars.

A fascinating insight into past lives
This is an excellent blend of history and ghost stories, in our case vividly presented by Brendon, who combines a natural knack of storytelling with detailed local knowledge and an unmistakable enthusiasm for his subject. Our tour was in turns enlightening, touching, shocking, funny and genuinely spooky. Highly recommended for anyone who would like to learn more about Edinburgh's seedy and often violent past.

Excellent guide
Our guide was fantastic - Even though she was from Spain she has lived and worked in Edinburgh for many years. She definitely knows the city. Her English was clear and easily understood. I am coming back to Edinburgh with myself husband soon and I hope to do this tour again

So worth it!!
Ask about the additional route. It costs a little more to do both. We didn’t have time to do the other route by the time we found out about it but we definitely would have if we knew ahead of time. Great way to see the area. Sitting in the top area of the bus is recommended. Depending on weather of course.

A must have walk while in Edinburgh
It was beyond our expectations- our guide was a fantastic storyteller- the walk was memorable- discovering lanes and alleys of Edinburgh with historical anecdotes. The murder and mystery stories were engaging and thought provoking too. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the walk.

The best morning!
Our tour with Nick was a perfect way to spend our first morning in Edinburgh! He was so knowledgeable about the city, its history, and everything to check out once you’re in the castle. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an exciting introduction to Edinburgh!

Awesome tour of Edinburgh
Loved this excursion! Our guide, Nicola, was amazing! She has so much knowledge and did a great job taking us around and showing us everything. Having the headphones on was extremely helpful. No way would we have heard everything she said without them. I highly recommend this tour and count yourself lucky if you get Nicola as your guide!

Definitely book!
Stuart was our guide on a rainy day and it was totally worth it! He’s a wealth of knowledge and helped us find areas we would not have found on our own. He also provided us with insight into many of the buildings we had passed by and made it a more meaningful experience!
