Then, set out on foot to explore the hidden wynds and closes radiating from the Royal Mile. Stroll through shadowy lanes and courtyards, and listen as your guide details their dark history and horrifying secrets, hearing tales of the criminality and murders once rife here.
Next, head to what is claimed to be the world’s most haunted cemetery: Greyfriars Kirkyard. Walk around the tombstones, and listen to stories of poltergeists, missing bodies, and the graveyard’s famously loyal dog.
Lastly, follow your guide into Edinburgh’s underground vaults. Explore the dark subterranean chambers, and uncover their 400-year history as you hear gruesome snippets about ghosts, torture, murder, witchcraft, and unexplained events.
As you walk, watch and listen or any strange events and noises: many visitors to the vaults have reported weird sensations and sightings.
When it’s time, re-emerge into the streets of the Old Town, where your tour ends when you say goodbye to your guide.

Not much about ghosts but some good information about life in Edinburgh long ago. If ghosts is your thing I’d say this is t a tour for you. Guides seems more interested in their acting roles than ensuring the subject matter was interesting and relevant

Cassandra made this a fun and interactive activity. Lots of weird and wonderful historical facts.
Great way to learn to navigate the city. Look right then left. "When the light changes run across"

Fairy was our tour guide. She was pneumonia, a great story teller. Knowledgeable and player her role well

Don't do it unless you can keep up a normal walking pace. My partner has mobility issues and consequently we could not keep up and missed much of the commentary.
It was also a underwhelming as a tour. Some interesting bits but lingered too long underground & in Greyfriars Kirkyard.

A very theatrically fun and interesting tour with Captian Jock. He was a fantastic guide, lots of jumps and interesting stories told. I've done another vault tour in Edinburgh but this was a completely different experience, and with the added bonus of the graveyard.
Would recommend and jock was an amazing guide.

John Kincaid did a great job! Lots of history and mystery. Spent some time above and underground with mild amount of walking.

Fun experience - great way to learn about the city and see some spots you can't get to. Definitely worth it.

Our host was Robbie Diggs! He did a great job leading the tour and telling fun spooky stories. The underground part was the best section!

Fantastic tour, led by Lafayette! Creepy fun with lots of facts and fun stories thrown in. A great experience!

It was a great ghost tour! I'm having trouble falling asleep 3 hours after it ended, actually. The legends shared have me slightly freaked out. Maggie Dickson was a great, interactive tour guide!

This was a great walking tour. It was organized and our tour guide, Agnes Sampson, was personable and informative. The stories told were both historically interesting and spooky enough to keep our jaws dropped (particularly the stories about how they used to torture people!). Some in our group don't care for ghost stories, but they enjoyed the historical context of the stories and so I think this tour would appeal to a lot of people. There were a fair number of stops in the hour long (ish) tour, but I would recommend that the tour guide explain directions about how to get back to the starting point at the end of the tour. The tour advertised that the starting/ending point would be the same and this was not the case. Many in the tour group seemed to have difficulty getting there bearings of how to get back to the starting point when the tour ended. All in all, this tour was very good value for the money and I would recommend it to others!

The guide was good. Robbie Digs was funny and engaging. I thought we were going to see more of Edinburgh underground than we did, though. I went on trip previously, and I remember that were 2 more chambers underground. Would be great to add at least another chamber as part of the tour.
Cathy_B, Apr 2026
The tour guide was fabulous! Very theatrical and really drew you in. The history of the tunnels and Edinburgh at the time was interesting.
eric_s, Apr 2026
Fun and entertaining tour. Robbie was fantastic and made the evening enjoyable. Seeing and learning about the underground was worth it.

Very informative, fun and creepy. Our tour guide, David, did a superb job. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining
Nicholaus_B, Apr 2026
Agnes was a great guide. A lot of funny stories along with creepy ones. The underground was kind of creepy. No luck feeling in ghost, maybe next time!
William_P, Apr 2026
Good information and guide John. Would have liked a little more time underground in other parts of the city as I thought it was more underground than it was. Other than that reasonably good.
Jenna_G, Apr 2026
Lovely tour with Maddie (I believe?) an so cute and fun! Def recommend a day of pints prior, so the caverns and kirkyard isn’t so scary!
Jana_M, Apr 2026
This is a fun tour. You get to learn a lot about Edinburgh’s darker side while traveling though the city. I love the underground tunnels and the cemetery. Our guide played his character quite well and made the tour a lot of fun!
