Then, set out on foot to explore the hidden wynds and closes radiating from the Royal Mile. Stroll through shadowy lanes and courtyards, and listen as your guide details their dark history and horrifying secrets, hearing tales of the criminality and murders once rife here.
Next, head to what is claimed to be the world’s most haunted cemetery: Greyfriars Kirkyard. Walk around the tombstones, and listen to stories of poltergeists, missing bodies, and the graveyard’s famously loyal dog.
Lastly, follow your guide into Edinburgh’s underground vaults. Explore the dark subterranean chambers, and uncover their 400-year history as you hear gruesome snippets about ghosts, torture, murder, witchcraft, and unexplained events.

This tour was so fun! Maggie did a phenomenal job balancing laughs while providing a look into Edinburghs darker history. I also enjoyed the haunted side of things and it was a once in a lifetime experience. I definitely recommend this tour!
We went at night once it was dark and I think that was a good decision
Cemetery was spookier in the dark
It was ok. I’d look for another option for a ghost tour. Historical stories but really a ghost tour. Our tour guide wasn’t the best

We had a fantastic and magical experience with Lafayette, our tour guide! He was very informative and funny. He was particularly kind to me since I was slow and had a little problem walking. He even stayed with us after to direct us where to get our transportation to go back to our hotel.
Cassandra Bean was a great tour guide. She was full of stories, made sure everyone could hear her and was engaging. The tour focuses on three sites with ghost stories. It is suitable for teens upward given the content.
Great storytelling of historical events while visiting the sites where they occurred. The Fairy Lady was a wonderful tour guide.
Wonderful time with our guide Soldier Jock! He was funny, entertaining, and gave us many historical and spooky stories of the city. We visited the cemetery and underground vault. My 10 yr old really enjoyed it, although he did get spooked!

The stories were great. The guide took us through in the dark and kept us guessing at what would come next.
The tour is a spooky short evening activity. If you’ve done a tour before you may have heard some of the stories but the tunnels under the city are cool anyway. Nice way to spend an evening
We specifically chose the 8:45 tour because we were looking for a true ghost tour. Our guide talked about witches and while we went to the kirk, there was nothing and they had used a member of the group to pretend she was being grabbed, it was so bad. I was bored out of my mind and very disappointed. I've been on a tour before and it was great and that is what i was looking for, this was a waste of 75 minutes.
Not as expected (perhaps did not read the description well enough?): Thought we would be getting an underground ghost tour, but was really more of a theatrical performance / story vs a tour. Started in one underground room, then onto another - but really was a story telling (long!). Then onto two other above ground locations.
Our guide Agnes was knowledgeable and authentic. We enjoyed learning about the history of underground Edinburgh. I highly recommend this tour.
Interesting but not exactly scary. Felt a bit limited in "content". Overall, it was a decent value. Expected more.

Our guide was great and a dramatically engaging storyteller. The script should clarify what is historically accurate or what is legend. Either way is fine, just clarify to audience upfront.
Underground Ghost Tour with David in Edinburgh - his language was filled with “F” bombs and gross comments. We left the tour after 15 minutes. Disgusting.
This experience with the tour guide Fred was really enjoyable. He honestly made the whole tour had us laughing the hole time would highly recommend this tour with Fred!
Agnes was great. We had a big group and she took the time to speak to everyone and find out where they were from. She was engaging and informative. She seemed honestly interested in the history she was telling us and I think that makes a big difference. She wasn’t just reading a script, but wanted the stories to matter. Excellent job!
Our guide spoke so fast and most of us couldn’t understand her and what she was saying about the tour- she seemed scattered and most of the group stood looking at each other confused. It was mainly walking the strret at night and an underground cavern that had paranormal activity in the past.
The tour was a fun way to learn about the darker side of Edinburgh. John was our guide and he was amazing!

We expected most of the time to be the underground tour but it was more time outside walking around the city hearing ghost stories. If you like dramatic, over the top theatrical type guides you will enjoy this. Definitely not our favorite tour.
