It’s very easy to travel from one stop to another and spend your time seeing the sights. If you have several days I would book a multi-day tour, on different routes, to see as much as possible in a convenient fashion. Highly recommend!

We bought our tickets online and hopped on at #2 St Andrews Square. They stated online the tour was 1 hour ten so we knew we would have time to come back and get off at the first stop Waterloo on time for our lunch reservation nearby. Well we went from #2 to #9-15 and then stopped back at Waterloo. We wouldn’t have had time to take the whole tour from Waterloo again so missed out on 2-8 as we had plans rest of day. Very confusing, many buses that are red, would not do again

I always book a tour like this when we land early, knowing the hotel room will not be ready yet. The staff was friendly, the audio tour was easy to follow, and it was a great way to get a feel for the city before jumping into the sightseeing.

Excellent city centre tour. Easy to find bus stops plus comfortable earphones with informative details of the city in multiple languages. Great for those with limited energy to get around the city and its top attractions.
We were informed these tickets covered red and blue route when purchasing, please note they do not. Red route only. There is another company Big Bus (also on Viator) that do the blue and red route. Plus another company that offer a green route.
The red route is perfect for a days exploring, red and blue for 2 days.

It worth to take the Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour in Edinburgh. First of all, it's an interesting route. Secondly, the city is very hilly and not everyone can walk this route.

If I could give this a zero, I would. They don’t tell you any of the pick up locations beforehand, and they’re not available on the app. So it’s basically a treasure hunt to try and find the bus. We looked all day, and were never able to locate it and wasted 50+ dollars. We requested a refund, and were denied. We were never even able to use the tickets.

Detailed information, takes you around Edinburgh able to get off bus and explore if you wish and literally hop on another tour bus just wait at the stop you got off , you can go round on tour bus as many times as you would like. Offers for other attractions as well. Headphones provided as you get on the bus. Very easy to set them up and can hear clearly. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Great value for money.

Good value with interesting information. Friendly drivers. First bus departs Waverley Place at 08:55. I boarded at 11:30 and hopped on and off on Day one. Ticket is 24 hours so did it in its entirety day 2 (boarding before 11:30). Would recommend

I do not recommend this bus service. They do not provide the customer with a physical address to get started. The stops are extremely difficult to find and not well marked. I reached out twice for help with no response. When I requested a refund, it was denied.

Edinburgh is very walkable but this was an efficient way to get the lay of the land and an overview of the city sites. Be aware there are multiple sightseeing bus services available, so make sure you hop on the correct one. Also, the bus is only operating from 8:55am-5:05pm, so plan accordingly.

It’s good as the usual bus tours where you can make your own itinerary, we just found it to be a bit short route.
