Itinerary

Meet your guide at Whitechapel Gallery and set out to explore the streets of Whitechapel, the stomping ground of Jack the Ripper. Listen as your guide sets the scene, describing life in Victorian-era London, and revealing the gritty history of London’s East End. Follow in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper and his tragic victims, as you discover the facts of the 1888 murders and learn how the identity of the notorious serial killer has never been confirmed – despite many theories.

Stroll down Dorset Street, once renowned as the ‘worst street in London’, peek into the alleyways where Jack the Ripper stalked his victims, see the pubs that they frequented, and visit the spot where he left his only two clues. Along the way, get a feel for modern-day Whitechapel, with its lively markets, bold street art, and eclectic nightlife.

After a few hours exploring the historic district, bid your guide farewell and end your tour back at Whitechapel.

Kevin was extremely knowledgeable about all things London, but he was an absolute expert on Jack the Ripper. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Jack the Ripper. Try to get Kevin!

Historian with encyclopaedic knowledge.

Did a private Jack the Ripper tour with Stephen. He’s an historian and author who gives you so much more than the Ripper story. His local history knowledge adds another dimension to the tour and made for a fantastic two hours. I know he does a load more walking tours in London and we’re signing up for more.

What a fantastic tour, highly recommend!, our tour guide was Stephen who was so knowledgeable my husband and i were hanging on to every word he was saying and to visit the sites that Jack the Ripper had actually been to was mind blowing!. The great thing with Stephen is he is the "Oracle" of London so while we were walking round he was also pointing out other historic places, an example being he showed us where the great fire of London started, Pudding Lane, which without him we would never of seen. Nothing is too much trouble so if you need to stop of for a coffee/tea Stephen is more that happy to have a break and answer any questions you may have (ask him where you can buy the best hot chocolate!). As my husband and i not very familiar with London, what was really nice is that Stephen picked us up from our hotel as i have mentioned nothing is a problem, Stephen clearly loves his job as his knowledge and professionalism is apparent. We met as clients but left as friends. P.S Stephen is also an author and has written a few books on the subject so make sure you ask him about them as they are great reads.

Response from Host, Mar 2022

Top Notch tour and TOP NOTCH Tour Guide in Kevin. He was so knowledgable and personable. A great person to spend a few hours with on a Sunday afternoon. Well worth the time and the money. I appreciated the personal communication before the tour to coordinate where to meet. We had a ball on this tour and highly recommend it.
