Loved this cooking class! Some of the yummiest food of my entire trip! Short market tour that was close by and then to the cooking class with air conditioning. Knowledgeable and kind instructor who should open his own restaurant. Enough hands on for everyone without making it a chore. I plan on making all the recipes back home.

Great cooking 🥘 class experience making a number of delicious traditional Greek dishes which we then ate, the delicious dishes we made, together as a group with some lovely wine! Also in the beginning our excellent and humorous instructor Chef Vasia, brought us on a tour of the major food market nearby which was really interesting to see. I highly recommend this experience.

This was my favorite experience while in Athens! Such a fun setting and it felt like you were surrounded by family. The instructor was so informative and fun. I loved how it included the walk to the market for some of the ingredients we were using. I enjoyed the amount of food and the variety of dishes. This is something I would definitely do again!

Fun time at the cooking event

LINDA_F, Jun 2026
The room is up two flights if stairs plus walking through the market. We just looked at the items for sale, we didn’t buy anything for our meal . There were 16 of us in the class. It was so much fun. I never dreamed how much olive oil is used in making the dishes. We made appetizers, main dish and dessert.

Dobrawa_K, Jun 2026
The pace was too fast, too little networking and I didn’t feel connection with the person running the class. Too much rush and too little warmth between human beings, I felt like attending school class. The experience lacked soul and socializing. I was also at another cooking class in Athens already and the pace was slower and the person running it was much more present and friendly

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Hello, sorry to hear that the cooking class you attended wasn't what you had hoped it would be. We created the course so that it will fit in with people's busy vacation schedules and still give a fun experience. I am really glad that you at least got to experience a present and friendly cooking lesson at the other class in Athens you attended though!

Thanks for this glowing review! We also love our cooks and what a great thing to hear that they should open their own restaurant (we could never allow this, of course...)

Excellent! We learned a lot and the food was delicious. Be careful if you buy anything with flight requirements.

Adonia is great!

David_G, May 2026
Adonia was our instructor. She was amazing. It was a fairly small class, us(4 people) and another family of 6. The food was amazing, and the other family was great. I would highly recommend without hesitation.

The best time

Jeremy_E, May 2026
What a fun experience! Walking through the market before cooking and meeting new people. The best instructor.

A lovely Greek cooking experience

Sara_K, May 2026
This was such a fun experience and Vasia, our head chef for the day, came with so much knowledge and humor the time flew by. We started by venturing over to the nearby market to see where locals can get fresh meats, fish, and spices to cook with (glad I was wearing closed toe shoes this day as sandals would have been a bit precarious stepping through the active fish and meat stalls), then returned to the kitchen to begin cooking. We made 5 different dishes, including a dessert, some fruit and wine were provided throughout, and everything is served all together at the end to enjoy. Plenty of food and could easily be your dinner for the day. A very enjoyable way to learn some Greek cooking and chat with fellow travelers. Will definitely be making some of the dishes again at home. Very much recommend.

Authentic!

Mary_B, May 2026
Opening to the kitchen is snuggly located between buildings, don't overlook it. Class was fun, very hands on, the chef was excellent and entertaining

Best cooking experience!

Aubrey_S, May 2026
The best experience ever! So much to learn and so much fun! You walk the market and they explain it all to you then you do the cooking. It was just an amazing and fun experience.

Culinary Delight

Tracy_G, May 2026
Thanasis did a wonderful job taking us first to the central market. He explained items well and had a great sense of humor. He took the time to go over all the ingredients found in each food we prepared and ultimately ate. The experience was truly amazing and the food so tasty!

A delightful exploration into a Greek culinary adventure!

Noah_B, Apr 2026
This was a great experience from start to finish. Our instructors were informative, friendly, and all around delightful. From a trek through the market, to local vendors, and back to the kitchen, this was a worthwhile adventure. As a group, we made four dishes and had time to drink wine and get to know each other a bit as well. I would hands down recommend this experience. I would even consider doing it again!

A highlight of our trip

Madelyn_R, Apr 2026
An absolute highlight of our trip! The food we made was spectacular, we learned a lot of Greek culture, and it was really fun getting to chat with people from all over the world while cooking. If we come back to Athens, we will be doing this again!

Wonderful experience if you want more than sightseeing!

Sawapha_V, Apr 2026
This was a wonderful experience. We learned so much more than cooking and recipes, but the chance to understand what food meant to Greek culture. Our lead instructor and all the staff were pleasant and courteous. The demonstration and pace of the class were easy to follow and well organized. We also enjoyed the company of other travelers who shared their wonderful experiences.

An exceptional way to experience Greek food culture

Brennan_P, Mar 2026
An exceptional way to experience Greek food culture. I learned a lot, tasted incredible food, and met new friends.

Great thing to do while in Athene

Well organised, fully Greek food experience preceded by a walk around local food market …………,,,,,, …

Great Experience - A Must Do

Katrina_M, Feb 2026
Vasia (V-A-S-I-A) was amazing. Super friendly, knowledgable, and funny. She was a great guide and instructor. We took a trip to the market and learned about the customs and history of those who shop there. The cooking class itself was phenomenal. We made so much and it was all delicious! Dolmades, Spanakopita, Tzatziki, Stuffed Eggplant, and Orange pie. The Dolmades were my favorite and everything was adjusted for the vegetarians (me) in the group. Vasia creates a really relaxed and fun atmosphere in the class and her instructions were precise and easy to follow. Everyone else in the class was lovely and friendly and eating all the food together at the end was very fun. Highly recommend taking time out of your visit to Athens to get a chance to create some wonderful Greek food.

Must do!

Tina_O, Jan 2026
We had a fantastic time but it did feel a bit rushed at times. I would recommend it to anyone! Do it!

Absolutely wonderful time...

Jenna_L, Jan 2026
Absolutely wonderful time with wonderful hosts! And probably my favorite meal in Athens. Definitely recommend. :)

A fun afternoon

Karen_B, Jan 2026
A delicious experience in Athens. We started with a walking tour of the markets, which was so interesting to see. The food we made was amazing and we learned how much honey gets used in Greek dishes, which we still talk about today.

Good course, delicious food

Anastasiia_K, Dec 2025
I really enjoyed this course. It was well-organised, good recipes, delicious outcome 😋 The instructor was nice and friendly, we had lots of fun talking with her. The group was quite big but thanks to good structure of the course, everyone could participate in making every dish. It was fun to get to know other participants, too. I can definitely recommend this activity.

An amazing glimpse to the Greek cuisine and culture

Oron_M, Dec 2025
Adoniya is the best of the best!!! We had a great experience, actually cooked delicious and traditional dishes. Adoniya guided the group in the best way possible, professional and fun and helped us get a glimpse of the Greek cuisine and culture. We try to take a cooking class in every place we travel to and this one is definitely one of the best.

Fantastic home cooking experience

Brandon_N, Dec 2025
Thanassius was fun, lively, and energetic. The food was amazing, and we learned things we never knew before. This was by far the highlight of our stay in Athens.

Very good!

Jenna_v, Nov 2025
I loved it! As a solo traveller, I was able to make great connections. Also, we got to take the left overs, so for me it was enough to have dinner twice!

Do It!

Julie_B, Nov 2025
We had a great time and met people from all over the world. Vasia was great, very knowledgeable, fun/dry sense of humor that kept us all laughing through out the day! At first we were confused about going to the market. We thought we had to go there to purchase what we had to cook. That’s not the case at all. The market was super interesting and not something we would have gone to had she not taken us there. All & all it was a great experience. Highly recommended and well worth the money spent!

Excellent

Steven_E, Nov 2025
The instructor is a national treasure. So silly and fun while also being helpful and encouraging. I was expecting it to be fun but it was even better than expected.

Awesome cooking class....

Leslie_C, Oct 2025
We had a great time. Vasia was knowledgeable and entertaining. We had classmates from Germany, Belgium and England and it was fun to spend time cooking with them and getting to chat with eachother. I highly recommend this.
