After picking you up or meeting you at Hacienda Baru, it’s when our experience will start. We will walk for 2 hours or so through the rainforest looking for the amazing wildlife there, sloths, monkeys, peccaries, and birds among others. Trails are flat and shady and it’s also way less crowded than Manuel Antonio Park. After the walk, we will get into our cars and drive to Nauyacas waterfall, after paying our entrance fee they’re going to take us in their 4x4 vehicle for 30 minutes drop us off for 2 hours, and pick us up at the same point they drop us off. 30 minutes driving back to our cars, afterward, if customers are hungry we will go to a restaurant where the seafood is amazing, they have all kinds of local food with local ingredients. After lunch, we go back to our hotels, after a great day and great experience we have to say good bye or see you soon because we hope this can be the first time of many more, muchas gracias and pura vida.

This is not another tour to Poás Volcano. It is a private experience, for those who prefer to travel slowly rather than do mass tourism. We pick you up at a time that suits you best, right from your hotel or Airbnb, without having to move and without wasting time picking up other people. In Poás this is important: those who climb after mid-morning often find the crater covered by clouds. That's why we go first, when there's a better chance of seeing it clear. We stopped in front of one of the largest active craters on the planet and visited Laguna Botos, with waters that change color. We follow the iconic La Paz Falls to discover a secret passage that many overlook. We close at Hacienda Alsace, the only Starbucks coffee farm in the world, where you learn where each cup comes from. Your companion does not only know this land: he lives it. You won’t remember another tour, you’ll show off your experience on an active volcano, its waterfalls and its coffee.

Most visitors arrive at Manuel Antonio by tour bus, meet it on a crowded trail, and leave soon after midday. This day is built to slow it down. You head out from San José for the central Pacific and stop first at the Croc Skywalk, where a walkway crosses the Tárcoles River and wild crocodiles rest on the banks below, scarlet macaws passing overhead. Then comes Manuel Antonio National Park, home to a beach Tripadvisor ranks among the world's top 25. A sloth hangs off the trail, monkeys cross above you, and the forest opens onto white sand and calm water. A short detour reaches Playa Las Gemelas, a cove most people miss, and the day closes in Jacó as the sun drops into the sea. The group stays small and personal, so your local host sets the pace, points out what you would miss on your own, and keeps the day yours, not a timetable. Whether you come as a solo traveler, a couple, a family, or a group of friends, you'll have the wildlife you came for and a local host by your side.
