This tour starts from the city center, and takes you around beautiful surroundings on Seterøya, in the middle of the beautiful Moldive Islands. Moldivene is the nickname for the group of islets and reefs out in the fjord just south of the city. This is a paddling tour along the north side of Seterøya Island towards Hjertøya Island and through the beautiful lagoon. The lagoon is sheltered from storms and wind, and here it is so shallow that only kayaks and small boats can get through.

All guests get the opportunity to swim a fun river rapid. It is a surprising and rewarding experience to feel the power of the river as you safely float through the waves. Once everyone has cooled off enough swimming in the river we continue downstream through high mountains and endless fields of strawberries. Just over halfway point we pull out and take lunch stop along the river. We light a fire, warm water, and serve a local delicacy, Svele, with local strawberries and cream. A great way to refuel before setting out on the final, and swiftest section of the river. The grade steepens and rapids increase in both number and size.

Best road trip in Alesund , a must do

Our guide, Morten was excellent. He’s professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The van and the ride was so smooth even though it was such a difficult and narrow path. I who easily get motion sickness didn’t feel a bit as Morten is a great experienced driver. The van conditions is great and we all sat comfortably especially there was only one more lady besides the two of us. We felt like the VIP 😄 This arrangement is way better than a big bus. I went for one yesterday and I felt nauseous afterwards. The places Morten brought us to were beautiful and memorable. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Ålesund. A must do. Thanks Morten and it was so nice meeting you.

Just Amazing!!

This was the absolute best tour! Rolf was friendly, funny, and clearly has a deep love for his country and what he does. We learned so much from him and stopped at so many spots to explore. When I realized that I booked a tour that drove down the mountain on the Trollstigen hairpin turns, I was a bit nervous but Rolf is a fantastic driver and I never felt scared once. Our family loved everything about this tour, appreciated the bagged lunch (he even took care of our gluten free family member), and the Norwegian ice cream is the best in the world. An ideal way of seeing Alesund with the benefit of an excellent guide.

The guide is very knowledgeable about the area, the small size of the van (16 persons capacity) makes the experience more intimate and it is very comfortable for the participants and the time allocated in each stop is well balanced with no pressure for leaving fast. Overall a very enjoyable tour.

Fabulous Walking Tour of Alesund

We were the only two booked on this morning’s tour so were privileged to enjoy a private tour. Lukas is very friendly and really passionate about Norway. Feeling very tiny

What a great way to feel the full effects of the Fjord and see the waterfalls. It really gave us a perspective on how huge the mountains are and how tiny we really are. The staff were wonderful and helpful. I had so much fear agreeing to do this event but I was very pleasantly surprised. No one got wet and I didn’t tip over.

Best Food Tour in Ålesund!

The food walking tour was a wonderful way to experience some of the unique flavors of Norway and history of Ålesund. Monica was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Since she is a local, she had some personal experiences that she shared which were fascinating. She knew the history of the families and the buildings where we stopped for tasting. All the food was delicious and it was a very easy walk. We definitely recommend this tour.

Worthwhile Tour of Alesund

This is one of the best tours of Alesund you will find. Most tours do a similar route but visit Mount Aksla instead of the lighthouse. Mount Aksla is nice, but it can be easily summited by a quick hike from the center of town (even for someone who is out of shape). On the other hand, the lighthouse is remote, hard to access, and well worth a visit. I would highly recommend this tour.
