All Faro Tours & Excursions in 2026

We had a pleasant evening on this sunset tour. The sunset was beautiful, and the guide gave us a very good introduction to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, including the local environment and nature in the area. The tour is quite relaxed and slow-paced, so it may not be the most exciting activity if you are looking for something more action-packed, but that is really just the nature of this type of tour rather than a criticism. Everything was well organised, the scenery was lovely, and overall there was very little to fault. A nice and peaceful way to spend an evening in Faro.

Exceptional food tour with the lovely Esther! We enjoyed three restaurants; three sample plates at each along with a drink at each, plus water. The portion sizes were generous & the offerings varied. We left very full! Esther was attentive, clearly passionate about Faro, and answered all of our questions. She took great care of us and made many recommendations of places to eat, drink & visit throughout our stay. A dealbreaker for me is the tour guide being a local and passionate about their city. Esther was certainly that! Knowledgeable & engaging. Would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested. Personal highlights - pulled pork neck! We were very lucky to be the only two on this tour, so it was essentially private. I was impressed that the tour wasn’t cancelled due to this, as many other tour operators would have done so. Thank you from both of us! ❤️

The boat was very nice and it was a small group of 12 people. I went in the 15:45 which was great because we got to watch sunset on the way back to the port. Loved visiting the 3 islands. Each one was different and had interesting vibes. Also plenty of opportunities to swim. Claudio and Sergio were our captains and guides. They were very fun, had a wealth of knowledge and made us feel very safe.

It was a wonderful boat ride to the islands. Diogo was very nice and polite. He talked a little bit about fiddler crabs, sea horses and some of the birds and the ecosystem around the islands. It was not an in depth discussion but that was okay for us. The Deserta Island was wonderful. We were able to swim/walk to one of the other islands. My 13 year old loved that. We got some ice cream and walked around Farol Island. For us we would have enjoyed spending more time at Deserta Island and less time at Farol Island. Overall it was a lovely trip.

Jorge was very knowledgeable and super friendly. He answered all of our questions and shared so much information about Portugal. Took us to 3 different restaurants and the food was incredible, so fresh and a good amount of portions. We highly recommend him and this tour.

I booked this trip through Viator, my daughter & I wanted to explore some of the countryside in the evening. 🇵🇹☀️. We met our driver close to our hotel which was excellent !✨He was very friendly & funny from start to end! He gave us lots of information along the way!✨ The Algarve is beautiful! We passed through a few villages, and our first stop was at a farm. We got to see peacocks, ducks, geese, chickens, goats, a pig & horse! 🦚🦆🐓🐐🐖🐴 We also got to taste honey, jams & ‘fire water’. So many drops are growing on this farm, it was really lovely. 🌱🌳🌶️ Our second stop was at a ‘custard pie factory’, but due to the time of our trip they’d sold out! 🤩 We had lemon meringue pie & cake which was so good.🍰🍥 Our next stop was at the ‘“Queda de agua do vigario” waterfall! 🌱💦 There are many steps down, but so worth it! Beautiful. Finally we went up into the mountains to watch the sun set at Messines. 🌅 Here you have 360 degrees view of the surrounding countryside! The sunset spot itself is beautiful! I definitely recommend you go on this trip, it’s super good value for money & I feel you get to see the ‘real’ Portugal, a must see! ❤️🇵🇹

Sebastian was a great tour guide, friendly, funny and very considerate of the range of ability in our group. Had a great time walking and being able to see the caves from above, he answered all our questions, helped us with photos and even suggested how we could come back with transport to do the walk/trail. The boat tour was quick but had some lovely views and just such an awesome experience. After we finished with some free time near the beach, the cafe had some great food and wine, food was fresh and staff were very friendly. My aunts went down to the beach (i was hungry) but they enjoyed the beach and still had enough time to get some food after!

Such a fun and interesting experience, thanks to Carla, we explored so much of Algarvian history and culture, visiting a moorish castle, Roman bridges, rural towns, experiencing Portuguese life both past and present. We got to see and learn so much more than we anticipated. Definitely recommend if you like a rich cultural experience from rural towns, orange farms and more 😊
