Itinerary
Start your Rhine Falls tour from central Zurich. Board your comfortable coach for a scenic drive past the rolling vineyards and charming villages of northern Switzerland alongside the border of Germany. Travel from Zurich directly to Laufen Castle (Schloss Laufen), perched on a forested cliff overlooking the Rhine Falls. Enjoy free time to take in the spectacular cascades, which are 450 feet (150 meters) wide and 75 feet (23 meters) tall, and capture memorable photos of Europe’s largest waterfall.
Take advantage of unbeatable panoramas from the viewing platforms and opt for a summertime boat ride (April to October; optional and own expense) that delivers you to the middle of Rhine Falls, where you can admire their full glory.
On the return drive to Zurich, pass through Schaffhausen, where you can see the distinctive circular Munot Fortress, which was built in the 16th century. The tour concludes at Sihlquai Bus Station, making it easy for onward travel.

The Rhine Falls tour was fabulous. We had a great tour guide (Andrea) who explained many things on the ride to and from the falls. The Rhine Falls was very beautiful and great to see. If time permits take the boat tours, even if it’s for only 15 minutes. Worth it to see the falls from a different angel.

Light walking up and down a trail to boat landing. Getting the spray from the falls while in the boat is refreshing and fun.
The experience did not meet my expectations, particularly when compared to other major attractions like Niagara Falls. Given the cost, I found the value to be unsatisfactory. However, the guide performed adequately and the driver was professional, ensuring our safe return.
They should be ready for a spectacular experience., but be advised that the boat ride is an additional cost, which is not made clear in the tour description.
There are 10,386,223 stairs. To be honest .. not quite that many, but enough that you should know going in that you will have to climb stairs.
The guide Madeline and driver Ilias were brilliant funny and knowledgeable- the falls themselves were great even though less water take the boat ride it was rpic
Nielson is a great tour guide! The Rhine Waterfalls are beautiful. I highly suggest taking the boat tour because you get to see the falls in the front instead of just a side view. They are truly are outstanding. I do wish we could have stopped in Germany to get a snack. It would have been fun to say we stopped there. Overall this is a great tour and I would recommend it.
The amount of steps!!! We had to stop a couple of times to catch our breath as we are 70 and 75 years old
This was a lovely tour. The Rhine Falls was a true delight to see. The tour guide was quite informative about some of the history and culture surrounding the local area . Overall a very pleasant trip.

Beautiful ride, great guide (Victor) and bus driver (Carlos). Falls are beautiful and the 15 minute boat trip to the base of the falls is definitely worth it.

A great 1/2 day tour! We were back by 12:30 and still had plenty of time for exploring the town for shopping.
Our tour guide was amazing. She gave us many details and fun facts about Switzerland on the bus trip. The fallls were beautiful. The trip was even better than expected. One thing to be mindful is there are lots of stairs. But, highly recommend!
We enjoyed the ride outside the city. Learned many things about the area and country. The river was beautiful and impressive.

Easy to find being at the bus station, staff were organised and we started on time. If you are choosing to do the optional boat ride, make the decision beforehand and have payment ready. We had a few travellers who changed their mind and decided to do the boat ride but that held us up at the start once at the falls. A little annoying, but everything else was wonderful. Our guide was knowledgeable and bilingual so that helped most passengers. A fantastic day out, would thoroughly recommend.
This was a great tour and one that I will never forget. The bus driver, Victoria, led us on a very safe trip. Neilson was a top notch tour guide. He gave many interesting facts about the area and made the trip very fun! I highly recommend this tour to all that love nature!
My wife and I were traveling for the first time in Switzerland and this was one of three tours we booked. This was a great experience with fantastic views of the waterfall! We also really enjoyed driving through a small village and seeing all the half-timbered homes.
Great trip to the Rhine falls, Adolfo, Diane and Ugo were great. Plenty of time at the falls and everything was really well organised
The Rhine Falls were beautiful but Angela knew so much history about Zurich- that was the best part for me
The falls are beautiful, pay the extra 10CHF to take the boat ride, it was worth it. Views are great and the colors when I went (autumn) were fantastic as well.
We had a great time learning about the history of the country on the ride to the falls. I am hearing impaired and have to read lips in addition to wearing my hearing aids and Olga went above and beyond to help me. I will never forget it.
The boat ride, the view of the falls, and the museum were great. It was definitely a fantastic trip and I would do it again without hesitation.
What an amazing waterfall, beautiful and powerful place. We did the add extra boat ride up to the face of the falls which was amazing. Loved watching the view from the bus and enjoyed listening to the guide informative commentary about the area and history of your surroundings.
We loved this tour. The guide was awesome. Bus Driver too. My only suggestion would be to
let others know how many stairs are involved in climbing to the bottom and back to the top.
The trip is very pastorale. The guide provides plenty of anecdotal information. The part with the boat is nice, not too rocky, but there is some getting wet (light spray), and it should be clear. Lots of free time after the boat. Not clear why the trip back is through Germany.
