Visit the Katwijk Coffee Plantion to discover how coffee is produced, hear the story behind the plantation, and enjoy a freshly prepared coffee tasting. End the experience with a flavorful local lunch. Breakfast, a café drink, coffee tasting and lunch are all included, making this a complete and relaxed experience that brings together Suriname’s heritage, coffee, scenery and food in one journey.

What makes this tour truly special is the genuine connection with the local community. This is not just a visit to a Maroon village — you spend the day with community members who personally share their culture, traditions, knowledge and daily life with you. Travel from Paramaribo to Drepada in the Brokopondo district, explore the village, learn about traditional herbs and fishing practices, and visit the Talking Prints workshop where local women create handmade products. You’ll create your own headwrap by sewing it yourself, followed by a headwrap styling workshop with women from the community. Enjoy breakfast and a local lunch, and end the experience with time to relax and swim. This is a community-based experience: local residents are actively involved in creating and hosting the tour and directly benefit from your visit.
