Worth it , possibly plan your own transp
Just wanted to share my experience — overall it was amazing thanks to the tour guides. They truly made the day fun, safe, and memorable. My only real critique is the check‑in and checkout process. It feels rushed when they want you to sign paperwork, but then you end up waiting forever when it’s time to go home.
This excursion was great. Definitely wear something you don’t mind getting dirty because you will get dusty. We even got dusty before taking pictures at the Big Buddha, but honestly it all flowed together and didn’t ruin anything. The tour guides were incredible — bring cash to tip them because they work hard to make sure you get good memories, great photos, and feel comfortable, especially during the zip lining.
My only “grow” is better communication with drop‑off. We waited about 20 minutes for a ride back, asked about it, and were told it would be another 15 minutes. At that point we were tired, dirty, and ready to go, so we just used Grab (their version of Uber). The price of the excursion is absolutely worth everything you get to experience, but we didn’t use their transportation again since we already had a ride there and didn’t want to wait 40 minutes to get home, especially being an hour away.

Come Hungry, Leave Happy!
This was a great way to get away from just the regular Thai dishes, getting a chance to try things from many different regions, including Burma, and places from around Thailand, with influences from Malay and Chinese ancestry! My guide Fon was awesome and so knowledgeable, sharing so much, not only about the food we tried but the places we walked!! But, definitely come HUNGRY! It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and you’re going to want to try it all!!

Delicious home cooked Thai lunch
Excellent afternoon starting with a visit to the fresh food market. Amazing array of herbs and spices. Back at the cooking school, each given our own wok and menu. Ingredients laid out for each dish and staff were very attentive, assisting you with the chopping and cooking. Music playing, Lots of fun and finished with an extravagant lunch. Make sure you are hungry- maybe skip breakfast. I recommend the spicy chicken salad, Tom yum goong soup and massaman curry. Highly recommend.

Go with an empty stomach, LOTS of delicious fresh food!!
We are a family of 5 with children 9, 14 and 17. All ages could follow the guide, our 9 year old had help exactly when it was needed which meant we, as parents, could relax and enjoy the cooking ourselves. The staff were super friendly and approachable. It was super well organised from start to finish. I had messages from Viator the day before to tell us exactly when to be ready and where to wait for pick up and a message once they had arrived to collect us. The market tour was great, finding and buying some sauces I would never have known what they were if left to my own devices! The food we cooked was absolutely delicious, lots of it so make sure you go with an empty stomach!!!

Fantastic enjoyable...
Fantastic enjoyable morning learning to cook 3 dishes with the delightful Wooddy. He explained what and why certain ingredients were used and his team of helpers were so friendly. The food was excellent the best that we have had in Thailand and we made it ourselves. Do not eat before you go there is so much food. A fun activity would highly recommend

Great market tour and cooking class
We had such an amazing market tour and cooking class with Care. She picked us up from our hotel and then we headed to the market to do the shopping for ingredients for the meal. Visiting the market was a great experience and it was really great to see the different stalls and foods. We then went to the cooking studio where we prepared 4 dishes. We made Tom Yum soup with shrimp, masaman curry with chicken, Pad Thai with shrimp and tofu and mango sticky rice. Care was an amazing instructor and we had so much fun. The food was all delicious and we were very full at the end. All in all it was a wonderful experience!!

A fun experience with a tasty reward at the end. A must do!
We really enjoyed Tony’s Thai Cooking class. We started at the markets with knowledgeable Ann to purchase our ingredients. We were impressed with how most things in the market were purchased on an app using QR codes (more advanced than the cash used in Australia). We were then driven in a beautiful air conditioned car to Tony’s class (also air conditioned) where we learnt about the ingredients then made a delicious Tom Kha Gai soup, chicken curry, Pad Thai (chicken or prawn) and sticky rice. We wished we had a microwave in our hotel room so we could take the left overs as there was so much food! The 4 courses were delicious and we’re looking forward to making a Thai banquet for our family when we get home.
Tony was a wonderful chef, very entertaining and communicated well. Water was also provided and there was a rest room/toilet on site. A must do tour.

Perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon. Jim and Sally are perfect at hosting this experience
Chef Jim and Sally were the prefect hosts for a wonderful cooking class on a rainy day.
I was picked up at the door of my hotel for the short journey to the venue for our class.
Chef Jim has a fabulous sense of humour and Sally is an excellent host.
We made four dishes, and each stage was made simple, informative and interesting. There was never a dull moment.
Some of my group brought children, and they were very well looked after by the team, making sure they were able to follow along without taking from the experience of the adults. Jim’s sense of humour perfectly adapted to his clients, as we were a mix of nationalities.
With so many cooking classes on offer, it’s difficult to choose, but Jim and Sally made this experience entertaining, fun and delicious. I look forward to attempting to recreate or meal when I get home.
