Accompanied by expert guides, it will travel different paths and paths in environments of Selva (Atlantic Forest of Alto Paraná), grasslands and wetlands, being able to see a great diversity of resident and migratory species, some of them in categories of risk in terms of conservation (according to IUCN), within the first area of importance for Birds (IBA) of Paraguay. You will also take night outs (Owling, Herping, etc.) in safe and caring environments in which to carry out such activities with peace of mind. The tour includes round trips from Asunción to private areas of high biodiversity in the San Rafael National Park Reserve and surrounding areas, 4 meals daily, accommodations in the reserves (comfortable facilities in both areas that we will base) and all internal transfers. The Great Chaco offers impressive wildlife, with good chance of seeing some of South America’s charismatic big mammals like jaguars, pumas and tapirs. Lowland Tapir, Puma, Giant Anteater and Chacoan Peccary are amongst the mammals we may encounter: the last of these was presumed extinct when it was described from fossils in 1930. It came as a surprise when it was rediscovered in 1972, to become the (then) third and largest peccary species known! Today, the Paraguayan Chaco holds the main population of this species.
