While it may be the smallest of the three waterfalls that comprise the world-famous Niagara Falls, Bridal Veil Falls is anything but small. Located on the US side of the falls, the 50-foot-wide (15-meter-wide) waterfall thunders over a 181-foot (55-meter) drop. Its frothy white cascade is reminiscent of a bride’s veil—hence the falls’ name. This must-see natural wonder is one of the highlights of Niagara Falls and can be admired by land, water, and air.

Bryant Park, off bustling 42nd Street in Manhattan, encompasses nearly 10 acres (4 hectares) of green space in the middle of the city. Whether you play a game of chess or take a nap on the grass, the park offers a fun and relaxing Midtown reprieve just blocks from Times Square.

Union Square is San Francisco’s main hub for dining, entertainment, and shopping. There’s so much to see and do here: browsing shops, stopping by major department stores, visiting art galleries and theaters, or staying at luxury hotels. The food scene is also a big draw—you can find everything from upscale restaurants and rooftop bars to casual cafés, juice bars, and coffee spots.

The most significant landmark on Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange is both a striking historic building and a hub of today’s financial activity. While security measures mean that the stock exchange is not open to the public, it is possible to experience the daily buzz of the financial district by planning your visit to coincide with the ringing of the morning bell (9:30am) or the closing bell (4pm).

The Central Park Zoo is among the country’s oldest municipal zoos and one of the most-visited spots in the famous New York City green space. Located in the southeastern corner of Central Park, the zoo is home to more than 130 animal species, including red pandas, snow leopards, tufted puffins, and ruffed lemurs. Young visitors can also explore the Tisch Children’s Zoo, a petting zoo with farm animals.

An abandoned elevated railway track converted into a park, the High Line is a Manhattan green space beloved by locals and visitors alike. Jutting out over Hudson Yards in Manhattan’s west side, the Edge’s SkyDeck offers 360-degree views and even an area with a see-through glass floor—peer down 100 stories if you dare. Visitors are drawn to the attraction not only for the unforgettable views but also for the Champagne bar, which offers a range of signature cocktails.

Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex is a marina and sports facility on Manhattan’s West Side, along the Hudson River. Originally a passenger ship terminal, it’s now a sports and entertainment hub with ice skating, bowling, rock climbing, golf, and field sports—making it a great place to come for families and friends. There are also TV production facilities and event spaces.

Formerly known as the World Financial Center, this mixed-use waterfront complex pairs office space with upscale retail and restaurant options. Renovations after the September 11 attacks upgraded Brookfield Place to a new level of splendor, making it one of Lower Manhattan’s most popular dining and entertainment destinations.
