Feel the flutter of tiny wings on your skin at the enchanting Butterfly House, where butterflies may land right on you as you make your way through the lush greenhouse enclosure. Many of the exhibits were open, but the animals were not in view. The platypus for instance, also the otters.

Even though I'm personally not a great fan of seeing animals caged, Melbourne Zoo is a wonderful experience for all ages.
All of the guides were very knowledgeable about the animals in their sector, and were happy to answer any questions posed.
Only real advice would be to wear comfortable shoes, as there is a lot of walking to be done

Wonderful family friendly day out visiting all the animals. Loved the park, the friendly staff and the informative talks. A few enclosures were closed for renovations, but you have to expect the ongoing upkeep at a place like this. Fantastic day out all around!

The Zoo is much larger than I expected (larger than Sydney Zoo) but few Australian native animals never showed themselves after multiple visit. Nevertheless, it worth your time.

Amazing place where you could see platypuses! We were lucky to see the one on a feeding spree! We also saw chimpanzee “flying” the ropes above the ground: This is absolutely unique to this zoo! We spend several hours in the zoo, and they rolled as a three minutes being densely populated with animal and plant views!

Beautiful family friendly zoo! Our kids loved seeing all the animals and playing in the many small play areas located throughout the zoo. Snap the QR code at the entrance to get the digital map available to navigate throughout the zoo. Very well organized. The food in the café was reasonably priced and delicious. Toilets easily located throughout the park. Easy to get to safely with your family from CBD Melbourne on the 58 tram. Overall, a great family experience!

It was raining a little during the time we went but we enjoyed it regardless. Due to the weather conditions the zoo was pretty empty felt like we had the zoo all to ourselves which made it more fun. Saw every animal without having to wait behind people. Elephants, butterfly room and lions were a big hit for the kids. Would definitely recommend!

I recently visited Melbourne Zoo and found the experience somewhat underwhelming. While the zoo boasts a variety of animals and is well-maintained, it lacks the excitement and engagement I anticipated. The enclosures, though clean, seemed a bit small for some of the larger animals, and the layout felt confusing at times. Additionally, the educational exhibits and interactive features were limited. Overall, I expected a more captivating and immersive experience.

We do not mind to pay extra entrance fees for this Melbourne Zoo, however, it looks like not upgrading or renovation lots. Only one small tidy baby Koala and one lion we can see, I could not even see any penguins or tiger inside the zoo.
I can see the photos showing them in the Zoo but it is hard to see the real animals.
Most of the famous animal only showing ONE species.
Also, those Melbourne Zoo staff are very on time to finish work, I think I can see more staff working there rather than more animals there.
I think Melbourne Zoo need to do more upgrade and add more extra animals to attract us to walk in there.

Gorillia exhibit was our favourite but all of the animal exhibits were thoughtful. The Volunteer staff were very enthusiastic and we learned a lot from them. We highly recommend families and animal lovers visit this wonderful zoo.

Nothing i had nought 5 tickets for the Melbourne zoo 3of those people could make the Melbourne because of covid i asked for refund in the 3tickets unused before the 34 hour cancellation tile and i was decline. Send email with a ridicules reply as to why i was decline.

Loved the orangutans 🦧 one of them came right up to the window and was looking at the people. He used a stick as a tool to collect bugs from a hole. Great to view nature close up.
