A day out in the Atlas mountains
Our driver Said was very helpful, accomodating and gave an excellent introduction to the Berber history, area and culture. Our lovely guide Mustpha took us on a hike through several Berber villages, culminating at a waterfall. His knowledge made it a very interesting walk which was ended by a traditional delicious lunch in a Berber house. We are left with great memories of a wonderful day in the picturesque Atlas Mountains. Thank you Said and Mustpha.

Wonderful informative trip
Abdul our guide was very informative about the Atlas Mountains and Morocco’s history. The pace of the trip was perfect with many stops to look at the amazing views, even if there was mist and cloud. Lunch at a Berber family home was delicious and hospitable. Do not expect luxury surroundings but expect tasty tagine and couscous.
Definitely a trip worth booking.

Beautiful day!
We had a wonderful day! Our driver and our guides were great. The hike through villages at the Atlas Mountains was beautiful and just what we wanted after having been in the Medina for a few days. If you want to shop, the first two stops were the most pricey. Wait for the market and beyond.

Family Morocco vacation
A wonderful experience seeing the beautiful Atlas Mountains and the traditional Berber Villages with some majestic views. Moderate hiking with an incline and flat terrain for an hour so must not have walking disability. Beautiful waterfall at the end of hike. Delicious traditional Berber breakfast with mint tea and amazing Tagine meal for lunch. Worth the hike and beautiful scenery

An excellent way to experience the Atlas mountains
This tour was an excellent opportunity to see not only the Atlas mountains but also the communities that exist in the foothills and on the slopes of the mountains. The driver Said was very efficient and Mustapha who guided us on the walk was careful and diligent in providing information and insight

A day in the High Atlas Mountains
Our guide for the day was Lachen, who lives in the High Atlas Mountains. We started with a fun camel ride followed by mint tea. After a stop for a traditional Moroccan breakfast we headed into the High Atlas Mountains, where we went on a tour our walk to a waterfall. We crossed the valley and went to the village where Lachen lives and had lunch of chicken tagine and apple tart cooked by his mother. It was good to experience Morocco outside of Marrakesh. Lachen was a very caring guide.

Our driver was prompt and stopped for photo opportunities along the way to the Atlas Mountains. Our hiking guide was fantastic and truly tailored our hike to our ability and speed. His home for a tasty lunch after the hike was lovely and well worth the additional cost.

Atlas mountains for a day
Very engaging way to see the Berber community and the Atlas mountains/valleys. Full day with so much to see, no pressure to do anything other than relax. Mohammed our driver and guide was excellent and read the group well in terms of interests. Would recommend, great communication from all involved.

When to visit

The Atlas Mountains are a must-see for adventure travelers and outdoor enthusiasts.
While you’ll find the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, most tour operators highly recommend visiting them in Morocco where they’re more accessible.
Choose among day trips from Marrakech or multi-day itineraries through the mountains and into the Sahara.
Remember to bring sunscreen, water, and a hat, as shade is scarce in this region.
