Get a taste of Laos’ craft and culinary culture during a workshop in Luang Prabang, the short duration of which proves ideal for time-pressed travelers. As well as learning to weave bamboo into a unique souvenir, you’ll master the basics of Laotian cuisine during a cooking class, which uses bamboo as the main ingredient.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Luang Prabang Old Town and take you to see the signature performance of the Luang Prabang International Theatre – the play *Buddha's Light*. This play tells the story of the Buddha's descent to earth, the spread of Buddhism, and related myths and legends, allowing the audience to deeply understand Buddhist concepts such as compassion, karma, and reincarnation. *Buddha's Light* tells the story of the universe: from the withering of the lotus and the sprouting of the Bodhi tree, to the Buddha's descent to earth and attainment of liberation. The plot reveals the causal relationship between good and evil in the world, the confusion and awakening of sentient beings, and how the Buddha's compassion and wisdom guide humanity towards enlightenment. After the performance, you can watch a 10-15 minute farewell song and dance performance (participation is not mandatory). After the event, we will take you back to your hotel.

Guided by talented artisans, you’ll delve into the techniques behind this ancient craft and leave with your own handcrafted lantern to cherish.

You may make your own way to the Luang Prabang International Theatre to enjoy its signature production, Buddha's Light. This immersive stage show tells the story of the Buddha’s journey, from his arrival in the human world to his path toward enlightenment. Blending mythology, music, and visual effects, the performance explores key Buddhist themes such as compassion, karma, and rebirth. Through symbolic scenes—like the blooming lotus and the Bodhi tree—the show presents the cycle of life, the struggle between good and evil, and the awakening of all beings under the guidance of the Buddha’s wisdom. After the main performance, guests may optionally stay for a 10–15 minute farewell song and dance.

There are different versions of this tour. The other version includes a Mekong River cruise in the morning and a visit to the waterfalls in the afternoon. The mornings in Luang Prabang are often cloudy and rainy in the rainy season, and winters are cold, so the alternative version may be better for swimming at the waterfalls. However, the morning boat trip is likely to be cloudy and the view of the Mekong River in the afternoon is better.
