Amazing Trip on Lake Como! ⛵️
This sailing trip exceeded my expectations! We knew we would be viewing the spectacular beauty of Lake Como, but what I didn’t expect was the history lessen regarding the prominent villas on the shores of the lake!
We not only learned who owned them currently or who previously owned them, but how some of them are still owned by the same families over the centuries. We also learned about 2 different villas that were used in films like Star Wars, The Devil Wears Prada and a James Bond Film! We were able to swim as well, which was refreshing due to the heat. We did sit in the shade throughout our trip, so we weren’t in the blistering sun during our ride. There, unfortunately wasn’t enough wind to open the sails, but that really wasn’t an issue. We were served beverages and small bite sandwiches for our trip, but eat prior or bring enough to eat for a 3 hour tour.
We were pleased with our skipper Giacamo, from Florence, was amazing and an incredible historian of Lake Como!
We highly recommend this trip, and Cristina was also very communicative leading up to our trip. 100% worth every penny we spent!

Authentic Italian cooking in welcoming home.
What a gracious, detail-oriented, fun and delicious experience. We truly enjoyed being welcome to Marharita’s home and learning from her family’s legacy of authentic Italian cooking. We made pasta, meatballs and tiramisu from scratch and had wonderful time getting to know each other! Multa Benne! Thank you!

Beautiful day exploring the Lake Como area.
Highly recommend this trip for several reasons : 1) the tour guide. We had Guilia and she was delightful. She was from the lakes area so she knew the area and able to take us to special areas 2) the tour company takes care of train tickets and ferry tickets. We took a train to Varenna, then took ferry to Como then another ferry to Bellino. It was a beautiful day on the water. Guilia gave us a tour of each city and then gave us time to shop, eat and explore. The last stop included a short, somewhat easy hike to a waterfall.
It was a whole day event but worth it. Excited to go back to the area and explore more of the towns and countryside.

Awesome master cooking class!!!
Beatrice was wonderful!!!! This was a great and fun class where we made ravioli and tagliatelle. I have never tasted better pasta and I will never buy pasta in a box again! Beatrice was a great teacher guiding us in all the recipes and techniques to make these wonderful dishes. She also shared her homemade tiramisu and gelato that was molto delizioso!!! I highly recommend this for anyone that loves to cook.

Excellent Day Trip from Milano to Lake Como!
Very well organized, full-day trip from Milano to Lake Como. The communication with the tour operator was excellent prior to the tour and all instructions were very clear. Bus was clean and comfortable, and our guide, Chiara was excellent. She explained all of the meeting points and times clearly and did a great job of narrating the tour in both English and Spanish.
The trip from Milano to the lake is only about one hour, followed by 90 minutes of time to explore the town of Como. Traveler tip: free bathroom in MacDonalds on the 2nd floor! After that, its a 2 hour boat ride to Bellagio, making stops along the way and seeing all of the picturesque towns on both sides of the lake. Another 2 hour stop in Bellagio, which is very beautiful. We opted to eat lunch in a restaurant, which was excellent (La Dolce Vita), but then we had less time to explore the town. If you can bring some food or grab a snack on the boat ride, you will maximize your time exploring Bellagio. Another 15 minute boat ride across to Mennagio to get back on the bus to Milan, which was about 2 hours. All in all, if you've only got one day to see Lake Como, I'd say this is a great tour option to maximize your time.

This was a small group...
This was a small group all day tour - Milan, Lake Cuomo and Lugano. Chiara was our excellent guide and the experience was simply superb. Chiara had deep local knowledge and helped navigate the group through a jam packed itinerary, offered great suggestions for places and food all along the way. Highly recommended for a localized experience.

Highlight of our trip
This experience was the highlight of our trip.
Not only is the wine and meats/cheeses to die for, the views from the vineyard were absolutely stunning. Sylvia was a delightful host who made us feel very welcome and relaxed. We felt very at home. If only it were as it is a stunning area to view the lake and mountains from and learn about their family run business.

A lovely way to see the lake
What a lovely way to enjoy the morning! Wear flip flops or barefoot is good too! Mich, was lovely and very informative. The lake is beautiful from the kayak. It was not too challenging we were in a double so my hubby did the heavy lifting but it was all good!

Ricardo was an...
Ricardo was an exceptional guide—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely caring. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly and shared fascinating insights about Como and its rich history, making the experience both engaging and informative.
I was traveling with my 72-year-old mother, who had some difficulty with the steep walk up to Villa del Balbianello. Ricardo went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable—he checked in frequently, offered encouragement, and made sure she felt supported every step of the way.
Villa del Balbianello is truly breathtaking. The villa’s elegant architectural design, lush terraced gardens, and breathtaking lake views make it a standout highlight of the experience. Walking through the grounds, you can appreciate both its historical significance and its reputation as one of the most iconic and scenic locations on the lake.
The visit to Bellagio was equally memorable. Bellagio is incredibly charming, with its cobblestone streets, vibrant flowers, and stunning waterfront views. Ricardo provided insightful context about the town’s history, culture, and local highlights, which made exploring it even more meaningful. We enjoyed lunch together as a group at La Punta which gave us the opportunity to get to know one another in our small group of seven.
The tour itself was beautifully organized, showcasing the best of Lake Como—from its natural beauty to its cultural richness.
At the end of the day, Ricardo kindly arranged a taxi for us and waited until it arrived, ensuring we returned safely to our hotel. This level of care and attention truly set him apart.
Ricardo not only created a welcoming environment for the group but also made sure everyone was well-informed throughout the tour. My mom and I left with a deeper appreciation for the beauty, history, and charm of the region.
I highly recommend this tour and Ricardo to anyone looking for a thoughtful, well-organized, and unforgettable experience.

If you don’t want to see...
If you want to see more of Lake Como and Lugano, a city in Switzerland that borders Italy, in one day, this is the right choice. The guide, Adriano, was very patient and knowledgeable. You have a period where you can just explore the area on your own.

Spectacular hospitality!
Perfect evening! Anna was a very friendly and welcoming host! She welcomed us with a nice selection of apéritives and wine and made us feel right at home. The pasta and tiramisu making process was really fun and we look forward to making them back at home! Everything was excellent and the food was so yummy! We definitely recommend it!

Exceptional!
Spectacular wine, delicious cheese and charcuterie! Wine paired perfectly with food!
Sandu was our hostess and was absolutely wonderful! Kind, friendly, informative about all wines! Ricardo assisted with experience and was perfect. We had the pleasure of also meeting and speaking with Giovanna and she was so wonderful to meet! They went above and beyond in every way!
I had high expectations and this exceeded my expectations in every way! Absolutely perfect!

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Thanks to its nature, cuisine, and culture, you could easily spend a whole vacation in Lake Como. But the larger lake town of Como also works well as a jumping-off point for forays further afield. Lake Como day trips go from Como to Bellagio and beyond. You can visit a Domaso winery, or see two countries (and two lakes) in one day on a trip to Lugano in Switzerland. Day trips on the Bernina Express to St. Moritz from Como are also popular.
