We did the night tour with Adrian and it was super. Adrian is really personable and considerate of all in our group. We had an incredible day visiting Nara Park, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, and Fushimi Inari Taisha. Every stop was beautiful and offered a unique glimpse into Japan’s culture and natural beauty. The deer at Nara were adorable and fun to interact with, the Bamboo Forest was peaceful and breathtaking, and the thousands of red torii gates at Fushimi Inari were absolutely stunning. Each destination was unforgettable and well worth visiting. What made this tour truly exceptional was our guide WILLA!!! She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the history and culture behind each site. Their stories, insights, and local tips made the experience so much more meaningful and enjoyable. They kept the group engaged throughout the day and ensured everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of. Opportunity to meet maiko /geiko

One of the few tours where you meet a Maiko or geiko . The dance was short but still entertaining. My kids participated in the games and enjoyed it . The q and a was good —-a host translates for the Maiko . Do come prepared with questions. They served a matcha cookie and tea ( wish they had warm or hot option because cold tea is just not favorable for some ). You also do get pictures with haiku afterwards but lighting in room is not optimal. Overall good tour because we would have not met Maiko in Japan otherwise .

Great Tour!

Great tour! Yoshi was a fun friendly tour guide. He had so much knowledge of Japanese history and great information about the places we toured. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Yoshi contacted me ahead of time to decide on places of interest and an itinerary for the day. In 6 hours we had plenty of time to see Arashiyama, Tenryiji Garden, Kinkajou. Fushima Inari Taisha, and Kiyomizu. Would definitely recommend!!!!

Delicious and Fun!

Fabulous! The class was fun for our whole family (parents with teenage/preteen boys). The instructor, Sakura, was so lively and energetic. The staff was helpful and friendly. The cooking was a blast and the ramen was delicious!!! They are also extremely accommodating for dietary restrictions. Would highly recommend for all ages!

Aki provided clear instructions on the meet-up spot, and gave us interesting cultural and historic information about the sites throughout our tour. My 10-year old daughter was engaged too! Tranquil tea ceremony experience

Even though it’s in a busy tourist spot , right near the Kiyomizu-dera temple ( which is a must!) it was in a lovely tranquil tea house..(I’d combine the 2 experiences & do them on the same day) There are plenty of cafes, souvenir shops in the vicinity too. Staff are very welcoming, asking you to remove shoes at the door ( so remember socks) then you enter a 100 year old tea house..facing a pretty Japanese style garden. They have you seated on floor cushions (small stool or chair are available) if floor sitting is a challenge.. each person has a matcha tea service and sweet made up on a tray in front of them. They then talk you through the history & rituals and introduce you to the ‘tea-master’ & how the ceremony will proceed. An enjoyable & informative 45 minute session.
