Fantastic intro to Kyoto

A perfect day in Kyoto — this customised private tour absolutely delivered. We packed in so much and yet never felt rushed, which is a real achievement in a city with this much to offer. The Arashiyama bamboo grove was breathtaking — photos genuinely don’t prepare you for walking through it. The Golden Pavilion was every bit as stunning as the pictures suggest, especially with the spring light on the water. The Gion geisha district was fascinating to wander through — atmospheric, beautiful, and full of history around every corner. And the food. The little treats woven throughout the day were a real highlight — a wonderful way to experience Kyoto’s food culture beyond just a sit-down meal. Our guide Kiyoto was excellent — knowledgeable, warm and clearly passionate about his city. Having a private guide with that depth of local knowledge made all the difference. The itinerary felt genuinely tailored to us rather than a one-size-fits-all coach tour, and we could linger where we wanted and move on when we were ready. Kyoto is unmissable, and with Kiyoto showing you around, you’re in very good hands. Highly recommended.

This is a great tour and our guide At-chan was super friendly, very knowledgeable and very capable at keeping our group together. Kyoto is extremely busy but this was managed well, however I did feel that the tour was rushed, perhaps one less stop and more time to enjoy where you visit, for me personally this would have been preferred, maybe even a bento box lunch rather than lunch in restaurant, served at 11.30 !!!
