What are people saying about Kathmandu

Great half day seeing the sites.
My guide Asmi was great. Picked me up on time, reached out the night before to confirm and was very knowledgeable. She and the driver Ravi took me safely between the sites and explained things about Nepal and Kathmandu along the route. For me the amount of information was just perfect, not flooded with information as can sometimes be the case. Five stars to both Asmi and Ravi - highly recommend!

Fun cooking class
I chose their four-course half-day cooking class and was joined by another traveler. We selected menu option #3 and had a fantastic time learning about the different spices, as well as how to prepare and cook each dish. The food was delicious, and the masala tea was especially good. The volunteer students leading the class were warm, friendly, and very hospitable. You can also purchase packaged spices, aprons, and other souvenirs to take home.

Fantastic experience!
My family and I absolutely loved this tour and we were all so impressed by our guide, Shankar. We chose the 7 site tour as our time in Kathmandu was limited and we wanted to see as much as possible. Shankar explained so much about culture, history, art, and religion plus he answered all of our many questions. Our driver was excellent and saved us so much time. Every site was worthwhile. Highly recommend both the tour and Shankar.

Kathmandu valley in one day
Asti and Berin were the perfect duo to spend the day with! They picked us up at our hotel and we were off to visit so many amazing sites across the Kathmandu valley.
Berin was a fantastic driver, calm in all the chaos and even the heavy rain. He was always right where we needed him and it’s so nice to be able to leave stuff you don’t need on the visit in the car.
Asti was the most knowledgeable and open guide. We learned all about the history but also had good chats about life today in Kathmandu and across Nepal. She was so friendly and made everything run smooth.
This tour is a log day but it really is a fantastic way to see so much in a limited time (we only had two full days before leaving for Bhutan). If you are lucky enough to have this duo as your hosts for they day, you will be truly delighted

A Great Day to explore outside Kathmandu
This is a great one day tour to immerse yourself in the culture of Nepal.
Puspa my guide was lovely and told me the history behind both towns.Shambhu the driver was very good at navigating some of the bumpy roads lol.
Bhaktapur was much bigger than I expected and full of surprises, I got to see woodworkers chiselling large pieces of wood making a chariot for an upcoming festival. Went to a singing bowl shop where the young lady explained and showed me the benefits of using the bowl to help pain and balance your chakras.
The highlight for me was going to a pottery studio and having a go at making something on the pottery wheel which I finally did with help from one of the guys.
In Panuati we went to Sarinas homestay where she cooked the best food I have had on my holiday. This woman is No 1 in Nepal in my eyes and it is worth the trip to Panuati just to eat her food!
You can stay at her home in Panuati she is part of the Community homestay project. Sarina Sainju #myhomestay
I highly recommend this tour its a great way to get out of Kathmandu and see other places.

Fantastic adventure with Basecamp Helicopter
I could not recommend them any more highly. I went with my daughter, and we had a blast. The company communicated clearly what to expect and reminded us that there were a few costs in addition to the tour price. It was mentioned in their ad, but the reminded us to make sure that there was no misunderstanding. The costs were to cover an airport fee and breakfast at the Everest View Hotel.
They came to our hotel the night before and went over the details of what we needed, such as warm clothes, pack very light, the itinerary, etc. They picked us up in the morning exactly according to schedule and took us to the airport. They walked us through security, check in, and took us to the gate, drove us to the helicopter terminal, and introduced us to the pilot. We were again given a flight briefing. The pilot was very professional and the ride was perfect. My daughter and I shared memories that we will never forget.

This tour is a must, especially if your time is limited
Madan was a great guide! I had only 1 day to see Kathmandu. You really cram a lot in one day - a long day but worth it for those who don't have the leisurely schedule. Seeing the 7 UNESCO sites was important for me to see, this tour and company was the best one - given the reviews and offerings.

Great day trip! (note: lunch not included)
We had a fantastic experience with the sunrise view, suspension bridge crossing, and hike through the village. Everything was nicely organized, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the day truly enjoyable.
Walking through the village gave us a great cultural experience. The only minor downside was that lunch wasn’t planned or included. However, we asked to stop for breakfast since we were hungry, and with the group’s agreement, we were able to make a stop.
Overall, a wonderful and well-organized tour with a great guide—highly recommended!

Wonderful view of the mountains.
The view of the Himalayas depends on the weather. The day we went the weather was good. We had a really great view of the mountains. Our guide was able to point out various peaks, including Everest.
The second half of the tour was interesting. Our guide was good and very friendly. We are glad we took the tour.

If you can’t do the trek, this is a must!
Everyone gets a window seat. Port has the best view going and starboard on the return. Maybe starboard is best? The aircraft turns to port as you pass Everest. So maybe starboard is a little closer to the mountain than port considering the aircraft turns toward the mountain.

Nagarkot Sunrise
The guide Som was very helpful and knowledgeable, he catered to my needs when I needed a break which was very understanding of him. You do need to be able to walk 13 klm’s and it is mostly downhill.
Enjoyed walking through the villages early morning to watch their daily routines but crossing the suspension bridge was the highlight of the trip.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
After you’re done sightseeing in Kathmandu, take some time to explore the surrounding Kathmandu valley. Some Kathmandu day trips head to Bhaktapur to explore an ancient capital and shop for thangkas and local pottery, while others wake up early for the sunrise in Dhulikhel or Nagarkot and then go for a hike in the countryside. If you want to get close to the mountains in a short amount of time, take a scenic flight or helicopter ride from Kathmandu airport, with your camera at the ready for brilliant views of the Himalayas.
