We had a fantastic experience with the sunrise view, suspension bridge crossing, and hike through the village. Everything was nicely organized, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the day truly enjoyable. Walking through the village gave us a great cultural experience. The only minor downside was that lunch wasn’t planned or included. However, we asked to stop for breakfast since we were hungry, and with the group’s agreement, we were able to make a stop. Overall, a wonderful and well-organized tour with a great guide—highly recommended!

The mountains are a long way away, but if you get a clear morning, it is a wonderful experience. As this is just a part of the trip, the hike including a suspension bridge, Buddhist Temple, high villages and forests and ending at Changunarayan Temple is a wonderful and full on experience. Great day!!

This is a great tour to experience local Nepal. Our guide Madan was excellent and the driver was great. We didn’t get to see the sunset but it was still an awesome tour. Please note however that you should be able to walk up and down a number of stairs. The hike was not difficult but the stairs might be challenging for some

Mr Sumit was the best guide ever the driver as well, but if you book this tour you have to know that you have to pay more than 40 US dollar for entrance fee and lunch is just a little breakfast bag. It’s better if they tell you about hole sum before you book

Hello Namaste, It appears that this review has been posted under the wrong product. The Nagarkot Sunrise Trip & Day Hike does not require any extra payment of USD 40. There is no such entrance fee on this tour. The only possible entrance fee in the area is Changu Narayan Temple, which costs NPR 400 (approximately USD 2.74) and is completely optional. Visiting the temple is not a mandatory part of the tour. All inclusions and costs are clearly mentioned in the product description. Booked this Viator tour for December 23, 2025, and it was fantastic. Early pickup from Kathmandu, scenic drive to Nagarkot, and the sunrise over the Himalayas was absolutely breathtaking. The day hike was perfect – gentle downhill through terraced fields, forests, and villages, with delicious included lunch. Special thanks to my guide Madan – knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate. The hike is easy but there were parts that got my heart pumping. Also the trail was a little difficult in areas. A hiking stick would’ve been nice. Enjoyed our guide and the other tourists.

a nice getaway from the noisy city

Although the visibility in April is not great, still the walking route is very nice filled with local houses, forest trails and spiritual places. Both the driver and the guide were nice and very knowledgeable - a great and enjoyable conversation

Great day trip. I was unlucky with the weather on the day as it was very cloudy so the views from Nagarkot were very limited but I had a beautiful hike through a rural area and had a great day out.

This is not a hike

This is not a hike. It’s walking thru regular roads which were dusty and rough. There’s no walking trail. The local travel organiser was disorganised. He came late and we missed the sunrise. Driver did not know the route and we got lost in the mountains. The guide was a nice individual, other than that Overall bad experience.

A taste of life outside Kathmandu

Highly recommend this tour. My guide communicated with me really well before and during the trip and going the extra mile to check I was ok throughout the trek. Unfortunately the weather was against me so didn’t see sunrise but it was still worth it to see the forest and village life. The temple is awesome and my guide was very informative. No hesitation in recommending this to get a taste of life outside the city.

Sunrise from the Himalayas

The sunrise from the Himalayas is very fantastic. Temperatures are low at high altitudes, so take extra measures against the cold. After watching the sunrise, trekking is mainly downhill, but since there are some small footings, it is good to wear trekking shoes if possible. I was a sneaker, although it was not impossible to do it with sneakers. The guide adjusted the pace and I was able to complete the walk easily.
