What are people saying about Galway

Trip is not for the faint...
Trip is not for the faint of heart, the ferry ride out can be rough when the wind is up, even in July the temps were in the low 60’s, with a feels-like temp in the mid-50’s with the wind and occasional rain. You need layers and a rainproof windbreaker at minimum. Also, there are substantial hills on the island, so I highly recommend the e-bike upgrade.
All that said, it was a memorable trip. Phil and Simon were just fun and knowledgeable. We had to meet our ride at 7:45am at the Galway Cathedral, earlier than most places are open for coffee or breakfast, so we had a makeshift breakfast of instant coffee and bananas at our AirBnB beforehand. We shouldn’t have worried about it, Phil stopped on the way down and we were able to get good coffee and breakfast at a cafe that even had Vegan options.
The island is sparse and beautiful, the sun would shine for bit, then clouds would roll over you and hit you with a fine soft or grand soft mist and the temperature would drop quickly, only to blow out again as quickly as it came. We never really got wet, it was just chilly and misty at times. Riding around the island in the narrow lanes between stone walls while looking out over a wild windswept ocean was the kind of stuff I came to Ireland to do. Meeting several of the locals and hearing their stories and learning the history of Inisheer was fascinating. I expected it to be one of the highlights of our trip and it met expectations. Highly recommend it, but understand it’s not going to be a climate controlled Disney ride. Dress properly and enjoy it

Fantastic tour from start...
Fantastic tour from start to finish. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable, with a few worthwhile stops on the way out and back. The time at the cliffs was perfectly paced, long enough to take them in (even in the fog) but not so long that it dragged, and the lunch spot was a great pick.

Beautiful view of the cliffs
This was a wonderful way to see the Cliffs of Moher. Murph was a great guide, thoughtful and funny. He kept us moving, but also filled us in on the history of the cliffs and Ireland. We did this hike on our last day in Ireland and it was a wonderful way to wrap up our time here. I can’t recommend this experience enough.

Worth it!
Our guide, Phil, was fun and knowledgeable. He kept us entertained during the bus ride. The tour itself was amazing. The chance to see the cliffs from the water was worth the rain. The boat pilot gives you plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the spectacular views. The island was charming and gorgeous. We would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Sheepdog puppies and baby sheep
The highlight of this tour for my daughter and I was the sheepdog mountainside demonstration at Joe Joyce’s place! We got to hold 1mo old puppies and feed bottles to baby sheep.. Joe is so friendly and even Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson, Calista Flockgart, and Harrison Ford have been there too!
The Kylmore Abbey - make sure you go downstairs to the kitchen. That’s where kitchen scenes from Downton abbey were filmed! Take the walnut to the gardens if you can. The trees and plants are stunning and from all over the world. I could finally breathe there the air is so full of oxygen! Definitely eat there at the abbey.
We made some stops along the way for pictures but it was a lot of driving. Countryside is stunning with lots of history.
If you can figure out the logistics (train from Galway to Connemara), I would do a pony ride on the beach in Connemara, play 9holes, check out the town for lunch, 1.5hrs at Kylmore Abbey, and go see the sheepdog demonstration.

Great day tour of Connemara
Excellent tour. So worth leaving the driving to someone else, and our driver/guide Mike, was so knowledgeable. Gained so much interesting insight and information about the area, as well as Ireland as a whole, plus made many stops at places of great interest that might’ve very well otherwise have been missed by having done a self tour. Mike had the gifts of both humor and gab. So glad I did this.

The Cliffs of Moher with a Surprise Chocolate Stop
We had a great day with Alan. The main objective was the Cliffs of Moher and traveling along the Wild Atlantic Way with castles and lots of scenery. So… the weather wasn’t ideal but Alan knew how to make the best of it! We made a surprise detour and stopped by the Hazel Mountain Chocolate Factory. This is an absolute must see. A personalized tour and tasting with all-natural ingredients. Incredible. The Cliffs of Moher were awe-inspiring. The weather was rough and so was the North Atlantic. Something to experience for sure!

Amazing
Sean was a great guide, we saw much of Connemara, making many stops in spots with breathtaking views. There was enough time to enjoy everything and the tour was very well structured.
Sean told us many interesting stories, sometimes a bit timidly, but always well. 10/10 would recommend

Connemara Day trip from Galway
Wonderful and memorable all day outing with our own driver, Pat, who regaled us with veryinteresting stories about local life, and historical backgrounds of places we visited.
It was especially great to have someone else do the driving and give our family a break, to enjoy all the incredible scenery. Connemara is spectacular, especially in good weather, and so glad we did this on our first visit to Ireland! We highly recommend this tour, and our fabulous driver Pat, who made it especially enjoyable with his knowledge and friendly approach. Well worth the cost. Thank you, Pat !!

Kerry was warm and...
Kerry was warm and friendly and took us on a lovely walking tour of Galway where we sampled delicious desserts, whiskey, food and cheeses. She was knowledgeable and welcoming. The others in our tour were fun and by the end of the tour we all agreed eating and gathering together was a terrific recipe for cultural exchange and building friendships

Wonderful experience
We loved visiting the cliffs from the sea. Very different perspective. Gerry our driver was absolutely wonderful. Told great stories and jokes. Sang us some songs and told us lots of history. I was there with 3 of my sisters and one brother. My brother had never been to Ireland before so it was a novel experience for him. My sisters and I have been to Ireland many times but this was a very good experience for us. Would definitely recommend this tour to everyone!
