This is a highly recommended tour, particularly if you've come to the West of Ireland and do not want to hire a car. Fergus took us to several historic points of interest on the way to the Cliffs of Moher providing helpful information and historical context along the way. If there is anything you want to see, Fergus is happy to add it to the itinerary.
Fergus is a warm and engaging tour guide and had several recommendations for us in Galway and ideas for us to consider on a future trip. We highly recommend this tour!

We had one full day in Galway, and our tour guide, John M., created the perfect route that allowed us to see everything we wanted—and so much more. He gave us plenty of time at each stop while still getting us to the sheepdog demonstration right on time, and gave us the freedom to explore and enjoy the day at our own pace. He also made the driving portions incredibly enjoyable with engaging conversation and fascinating insights about every place we passed through. As a local, he shared so much rich history and knew all the best routes, which allowed us to make the absolute most of our day. After getting to know us, he even customized parts of the tour and took us to spots we never would have discovered on our own. It was truly the highlight of our trip—we ended the day feeling like we had experienced a genuine and complete sense of Galway, the Cliffs of Moher, and The Burren. He also took so many amazing photos that we’ll cherish for a lifetime and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. We couldn’t recommend him more highly!!

Our driver, Hugo, took us to places we never would’ve discovered on our own. We tasted delicious Irish artisanal chocolate and watched sheepdogs do their work; we saw ancient tombs, forts, and castles all up and down the Burran. The icing on the cake was arriving at the Cliffs of Moher and taking in the stunning view. Hugo was an excellent source of information and craic, and ever so patient and obliging about pulling over for breaks when the winding roads triggered my inclination to motion sickness. (Strong recommendation to those who are similarly inclined: take your Bonine or Dramamine before starting this trip!) All in all, a quite memorable day!

Fantastic experience with breathtaking views of the cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean. We had been to see the cliffs 21 years ago. Major improvements with the stairway getting up to the cliffs. Our driver Owen was very professional and knowledgeable about the entire route! We would give him an A+.

What an amazing day. Every stop gets better and better. First a chocolate factory, then sheepdogs herding and then Cliffs of Moher and lunch. Finally a beautiful ride along the coastline back to Galway. Owen our tour guide was absolutely fantastic. He always made sure we had the perfect spot for a photo. He is so friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you Owen for a fantastic day.

Hugo was great! Quick witted, and of course a gentleman. He gave us multiple choices of stops with a great explanation which really helped. No pressure on time and a joy to talk to about anything. We enjoyed Hugo so much we booked a second day with him. By the end of the second day, he felt like family. I gave him all of my info in the US so that if he is ever near us we can get together!! I would give Hugo 10 Stars if I could!

The seven people in our group were very happy we decided to book a private driver through Viator for our trip from Galway to the Cliffs of Moher. We cannot praise DC, our driver, enough. He was very knowledgeable and made this such a memorable experience in Ireland! There were several stops listed but DC showed us much more on the journey to the Cliffs and back. We skipped the sheep dog demonstration which allowed us additional time for other sights. DC did not rush us and told us to stay as long as we liked at the Cliffs. He was also very helpful, personable and graciously took whatever photos of us that we wanted. I highly recommend for families and small groups to utilize a private driver (especially DC) to journey to the Cliffs of Moher. You would never see what we saw by taking a bus tour. We have taken many tours. This was by far the best!!

We had the best day with Fergus. There were just three of us in the group, and the Audi A8 made the ride really comfortable. Fergus made us feel like family from the start. He was friendly, fun, and so knowledgeable. His pride in Ireland really shines through, and you can tell he loves sharing his country with others. The pace of the day was perfect, with a great mix of driving and sightseeing, so it never felt like we were in the car too long. Such a fun and easy way to see everything. We would highly recommend it!

It was a great tour of castles and chocolate and a wonderful sheep dog demonstration along with the magnificent Cliffs of Moher. Our guide was prompt and friendly. He was more of a bus driver taking us place to place than giving us much information but he answered our questions the best he could.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed the our day trip to the Cliffs of Moher with our private driver DC (Sorin). We appreciated how he was able to customize our adventures that suited our interests; from stopping for a sheep dog demonstration to the historical Tower houses while experiencing the beautiful coastline and especially the Cliffs of Moher. DC was very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas we visited and also courteous, polite, personable and witty. We would highly recommend his tour to any families or groups of friends looking to enjoy the Ireland landmarks and local culture.

We had a wonderful day exploring the countryside. So many beautiful landscapes along The Burren and the Wild Atlantic Way. Patrick was a very knowledgeable and skilled driver, and kept us engaged throughout. Many stops along the way. Highlights were the sheepdog herding demonstration at Caherconnel and the Cliffs of Moher. We had lunch at Gus O’Connors Pub, and it was the best seafood chowder we have ever had. We highly enjoyed and recommend this tour. Only suggestion would be a microphone as sometimes the road noise made it difficult to hear from the back row.

We had an excellent experience on our tour with John. He picked us up at our hotel in Galway in a lovely comfortable car. We stopped at many interesting locations on our way to the cliffs. Our 9 year olds favorites were the sheep dog experience and the chocolate factory. John was very accommodating, knowledgeable, & friendly.

We enjoyed the cliffs, chocolate factory and sheep dogs. We’re surprised that the tour didn’t include the cost of any of the stops and we had to pay additional fees. Our driver Tom King while friendly, immediately put of Irish music as we parted and really didn’t talk to us unless we initiated the conversation. On the way back, he put on the football game and again didn’t share much unless we talked to him. We traveled with a group of 12 so had 2 vans, the other driver Owen was much friendlier and informative. Overall a bit, disappointing for Viator private tour.

Fergus was great! He was punctual, informative, and adjusted the itinerary to our family of four. He drove a clean, late model ford fan that seats up to 7. Plus, he has all the local golf knowledge for you (if you brought your clubs:).

Our driver Bogden was right on time. We were picked up at the hotel for a full and adventurous day. We went to the chocolate factory, castles, saw the sheep herding, We stopped for a great lunch. Bogden took us to the ferry dock to see the cliffs and possibly take the ferry to see them by see but the seas were too rough and we opted out of the ferry. Up on the cliffs the fog was so thick we could hardly see anything and we left a bit disappointed. We went to St Bridget’s cross and miraculously the fog lifted and Bogden hurried us back to the cliffs and it was clear. What a thrill. The cliffs did not disappoint. On the way back we stopped for apples and fed the donkeys. We all had an amazing day. Thank you Bogden!

We had a wonderful day with Bogdon as our driver for the Cliffs of Moher. We had wet, cold and windy weather but didn’t take away from enjoying the day! We did the sheep herding option and loved it! So fascinating!! Do it! Bogdon was kind and very knowledgeable along the way for the several stops we made. We enjoyed visiting with him during our lunch at a quaint restaurant in Doolin and a small pub along the way for a nice pint! Thank you so much Bogdon!!
