Originally built in 1868 in neo-Gothic wrought iron, it was replaced with a larger steel cantilever design in 1911–12. Destroyed by German forces near the end of WWII, it was quickly rebuilt in 1946 and then renovated in 1993. Through all this, it’s offered fabulous views of the city.
