Amazing Experience
This was a loooong day event, BUT totally worth it!!! Exceptional value for money. We travelled with Eduardo (Lalo on Tena bus 49), Victor and Oscar! They were a power team! Exceptional service provided and a wealth of knowledge shared. The highlight for my husband and I was the lunch! Authentic, flavourful and delicious Mayan/Mexican food…the variety was off the charts. We did not swim in the Cenote, but whilst others swam, we had a tequila tasting experience and enjoyed mangoes and a crepe kind of dessert loaded with fruits! Don’t know the name, but it was simply amazing. This experience was well worth it! Wear comfortable shoes as the walk from the park to the Chitzen Itza is long. Also, pay attention to your booking, as there is a fee required in peso when you board. Choose an excursion with the Cenote after the Chitzen Itza visit, you will want that cool down.

Absolutely phenomenal...
Absolutely phenomenal experience. This is with the official guides who are employed by the national park. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Jorge was our guide and gave a wonderful tour that was specific to what we wanted to see and know.

We did a private tour...
We did a private tour with Carlos from LakinTours, and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip. We felt very well taken care of throughout the process: - a day before our tour, we got detailed guides on how to get to the parking lot and not get scammed by unaffiliated vendors at the entrance. The meeting point with Carlos was also called out clearly with picture. - during the tour, Carlos has a very good itinerary of which places to take photos, which places to get up close and see important structural details, and which place to sit down for rest. Because of that, we got a ton of information without feeling overwhelmed, and we got great pics! We did Ek Balam the prior day without a guide and we felt absolutely wiped after it, but this tour makes us feel energized and inspired instead. Carlos is great at explaining things in English in understandable terms, and he has great photos to share (including some of his beautiful family photos!) - Carlos also gave us great tip on which cenote we should hit up afterwards, and his recommendation is top notch. We had a great time there. Overall, we highly recommend this tour!

Great experience
Great experience. It requires good amount of walking if you want to cover all the structures so be prepared. There are a couple of refreshments stalls and a sitting area in the middle of the compound to relax. Guide is necessary but a private guide is quite expensive. You can go with $10 audio guide (action app) that works about the same.
