Great experience.
It requires good amount of walking if you want to cover all the structures so be prepared.
There are a couple of refreshments stalls and a sitting area in the middle of the compound to relax.
Guide is necessary but a private guide is quite expensive.
You can go with $10 audio guide (action app) that works about the same.

This tour was good for us as we are travelling on a low budget and so this helped counter the high admission fee. We followed the instructions on the app and it worked great. We used wireless headphones between us with one in each persons ear. I do worry on the impact this will have on local guides but with admission being £70 for two people we didn’t have much alternative.

Ease of use and our ability to enjoy the pyramids at our own pace. We went off track several times taking pictures or buying souvenirs so when we were ready to get back to the guided tour the gps guided us with amazing insight into each stop.

Very nice way to get an accurate image of the site and its history. Software worked excellent and stories were compelling. Nice cheap method to learn a lot and ideal if you want to do things in your own pace (instead of following a group)

Really nice to walk around on our own and avoid the large crowds. The map is a little off, the audio will start playing before you reach the location, but that kind of makes it more fun as you have to search for what the audio your guide is talking about. I would definitely use this again for future tours

We received the link for the audio guide immediately and enjoyed being able to do the tour at our own pace whilst standing in the shade, at a cheaper price than hiring a guide. The audio guide itself is quite brief in terms of information but it’s about all you need. Took us around 2 hours to complete.

I opted for this over a tour guide and I was pleasantly surprised. It was very informative and you could walk around the ruins at your own pace. The app uses gps to activate the audio when you reach certain points. If you opt not to have this or a guide you won’t be able to really appreciate the ruins. The signage on site is minimal and doesn’t give enough detail to truly appreciate the workmanship that went into building this city. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed using this self-guided tour. There is great information and it’s easy to use. We loved the fact that we didn’t have to be huddled around a guide and we were able to walk off the beaten path (and in the shade) to listen. We even listened to the whole tour again in the car on the way home to catch those bits of info that we might have missed.
