    Improvement needed

    Rashaan_D, Dec 2025
The cenote was good, the history about the Mayans and Chinchen Itza was good. However, the tour was too long and I think more pick up spots are required as we drove pass Tulum when coming back and we are staying in Tulum so that didn't add up for us

    Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words regarding the Cenote and the Mayan history shared by our guides. We are glad you enjoyed those highlights of the tour. Regarding the logistics in Tulum, we sincerely understand your frustration about the travel time. For safety reasons and due to our transportation permits, we must adhere to a pre-established route for drop-offs, which sometimes limits our ability to make unscheduled stops on the way back. However, we value your feedback as we are constantly looking for ways to optimize our pick-up and drop-off points to make the journey more efficient for everyone. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future for an even smoother experience!

Amazing tour but the bus ride is a one star

    JOE_L, Dec 2025
The tour is a FULL DAY tour. Leave around 8:00 am and don’t come back until 10:00 pm. The tour itself was enjoyable but it could have been condensed for us….it was 2:00 pm and we visited the cinote and were just starting lunch (5 hours in). The sites were wonderful and the tour guides were very informative. Five stars for the team!!! I do have to give THE TOUR BUS a one star though. Very uncomfortable ride for the journey. If the person in front of you puts their chair back, you literally have two inches of room. There’s a cup holder on the left that grinds into your left thighs and a seat lever on the right side that grinds into your right side. Overall, the bus was terrible for a 2.5-3.0 one way journey. If you have bad knees, I’d suggest taking a smaller tour with better space inside the vehicle. lol. Sound like a silly complaint but it’s a long journey to have the guy in front of you with his seat tilted back in your lap, a cup holder grinding your left thighs and a seat lever grinding your right side.

    Perfect

    The guide explained...

    Abbad_S, Jan 2025
The guide explained everything both in English and in Spanish. Especially Chichén Itzá tour was awesome. Never know it was one of the 7 wonders.

    Great experience

    Nita, Jan 2025
Really fun experience, our tour guide Jorge was awesome and made the experience so much better! And our driver Francisco was a great driver and made sure to drive safe. Overall, 11/10 for sure and would highly recommend anyone to go on this excursion.

Too much time occupied into push selling things at high prices

    Subhra_P, Nov 2024
The tour is too lengthy most of the times being pushed into stores to buy stuff from them. The guide starts selling stuff in the bus itself and also starts collecting money for purchases when you reach there to 'help you save time'. Even during lunch you need to stop at different stores on the way before you reach the tables. Needless to mention the lunch was awful and while returning early from lunch saw the guides collecting their commissions from the stores. Needless to say the the items they try to sell you are pricy. I asked price of a wooden mask and it was 500$.

    Upsell

    Mankaran_A, Oct 2024
The tour had some valuable aspects, but there were definitely areas for improvement. For instance, about 5 hours were spent encouraging us to purchase expensive handicrafts, which took away from the overall experience. The tour lasted nearly 15 hours, and while the food was decent, the schedule felt a bit off-balance. After picking us up, we went to a handicraft shop just 10 minutes from the hotel, where we had a 2-hour layover. Following that, we visited another shop after a prayer session, and it seemed like there was a strong emphasis on making additional purchases. The actual tour didn't begin until after lunch. While I appreciated seeing Chicken Itza and the historical significance, it would have been more enriching if the focus was more on exploring the site itself rather than upselling. I believe the tour could be enhanced by minimizing the shopping stops to allow for a more immersive experience at the cultural landmarks.

    Adventurous whole day tour

    Patrice_W, Oct 2024
Our guide Hector was very knowledgeable about the Mayan people and their culture. His assistant Gabrielle was very accommodating giving us water, beer, Squirt with Tequila and snacks (a sandwich in the morning and a Mexican pastry in the evening). (We paid extra for the drink and snack package). Our driver Rogelio was very welcoming every time we came back from excursions. When we arrived at our first stop we were given info about the obsidian stone. It was very interesting. And then a Mayan Shaman gave us all a blessing. We then went into the large souvenir shop. I bought two pendants one garnet and one amethyst for $500 pesos. One of the shop assistants asked us our names and came back with 5x6 pictures he had created himself with my name and a cute Mexican girl with a landscape and my husband’s name and a cute Mexican boy with a land scape for $100 pesos each. Then we went to the chocolate store. You got to taste several varieties of powdered chocolate you make into hot chocolate. The buffet was delicious! Alll the chicken, salad toppings, pasta, dessert, fruit and pork tacos that you could eat! We then went to Chichén Itzá. It was very interesting but hot in the sun. There are hundreds of Mexican salespeople set up with their souvenir displays. (In my opinion, I felt it took away from the awesome sacred temple atmosphere). Then we drove to the beautiful Sacred Cenote. It was very large and very deep so they required life jackets that you have to rent for $65 pesos a piece. I loved getting into the water. It was very cool and refreshing. But I found the life jacket to be so constricting that I really couldn’t fully enjoy myself. (I am an avid deep water swimmer who works out in the pool daily without any belt or life vest). Then we went to the small city of Valladolid. We walked around the park and took pictures of the ancient church and ate a delicious crunchy crepe filled with strawberries, Nutella and shredded white mild cheese. Then we headed home for the almost 3 hour drive.

    They are not straightforward.

    Efose_O, Sep 2024
The tour starts with travellers taken to a supermarket where you are forced to pay ahead for the chitchen itza. Not sure why we can’t just pay directly at the site. The lady that attended to me barely spoke English and she took my money and refused to give me a receipt or even let me count the exact amount that I gave her. She just snatched it from my hand. When I tried to protests, she just ignored me. They also try to sell you all sort of rubbish on the bus. The tour guide talks too much and too loud. Doesn’t organise his words and mumbles both in English and Spanish that if you speak just one of those languages, it would be hard to follow.

    Long day and little content

    Angela_C, Sep 2024
The tour lasted over 14 hours in total but only 3.5 hours were spent seeing worthy things. 2h at Chichen Itza, 1hour at the cenote and 20 minute in valladolid. The rest of the time was picking up and dropping off people driving and visiting all sorts of shops. We actually started the tour only at 2pm. The pyramid and monuments were nice to see, the guide there was friendly and gave good information and we had over an hour to walk and take pictures. The visit of the Cenote was very quick, so much so we didn't find it worth all the hastle and the 60 peos for a short swim. You have to pay for the life vest and a locker. Then you get a flash visit in Valladolid, barely enough to get a bit of the vibe, take few pictures and buy some food. Then comes a long drive back to playa del carmen where you get to sleep a bit. We were woken up by a very drunk guide who was so busy making a point on how much they wanted the tip he made us realize of the unsafe situation we were at. He repeated several times the driver was busy for more than 18 hours and added to his state of consciousness we though how badly planned the whole tour was. This could have been done shorter if they didn't have that many stops or visit less shops, and driver could be less tired. We also had purchased a tour with a lunch box and 2 drinks at lunch with we didn't get, this I had to check with viator afterwards. To be honest I wouldn't recommend this tour, maybe another operator can make a better use of the time and give you better and more accurate service.

Jorge went out of his way to make the entire venture amazing! A 14 hour excursion and his smile and professionalism never wavered.

    Great tour

    Madeline_H, Aug 2024
After you book your tour, make sure you click on “contact tour guide” for exact pick up time based on location chosen. If you download the app, you will not need Wi-Fi or data to view your tickets day of. Tour guides were super nice and knowledgeable, spoke very good English. Our tour got divided up into two groups at Chichen Itza - Spanish & English. Our English speaking tour guide (not from tour company), was also very knowledgeable and accommodating. I am six months pregnant and he was willing to seek out shade while giving our tour. Lunch is provided before you go to the ruins. They take you to a Mayan reservation where you can visit a gift shop and access the buffet provided - the food was surprisingly good. They have a wide variety, including different rice and pasta, sides, meat, and vegetarian options, tacos, and pizza and flan! We choose this tour because cheapest and only difference was no tequila tasting. My husband ended up getting a free tasting at cenote! If you don’t have wifi, download a map of the area you are staying. You will return at night and possibly not the same spot you were picked up. You can also request to get off at another drop off if closer to your accommodations.

    Legends of the Maya

    Kristina_G, Jul 2024
It was an amazing cultural experience and learning opportunity. The lessons that can be learned from the Maya and the awe inspiring temples it truly is one of the great wonders of the world. Top this trip off with swimming in the Cenote was iconic and icing on the cake.

    Worst EXCURSION EVER!!!!

    Martha_K, Jul 2024
One this excursions does not tell you alll it does we went to a church for 20 mins a the cenote for 1 HR!! To a shopping center for like 2 HR . And then the chichen itza for 2 HRS but the tour was 15mins and the rest was “free time” but when walking on said free time we found more things we didn’t know about IN THE HOT BLAZING SUN then we had nothing to do for the remaining 1HR . We woke up at 7 in the morning to stay there til 9 at night with just lunch NO DINNER and NO BREAKFAST which more things were closing by the time we came back! Also all inclusive isn’t all inclusive they like limit you. NOT TO MENTION THE WHOLE TIME THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL YOU EVERY THING!!! Like we had to pay moreee fees when getting there ,pay for drinks (supposedly all inclusive btw) , and PAY EVEN FOR A PRAYER. Everything kinda felt like a scam of the culture to make some profit it was quite sad… and the tour guide like scared us half to death when we went to the chichen itza on the merchants when they weren’t like anything he said. So we couldn’t buy anything because supposedly they would kidnap us.

    Bad time

    Sara_C, Jul 2024
Over all the tour took 14 hours. It’s basically them just wanting you to spend as much money as possible. They bring you through all these shops and don’t tell you. The tour of the pyramid was 15 minutes and then you had to wait in the hot sun for an hour and 15. Would not recommend

    Good tour!

    MIMI_J, Jul 2024
It is good tour! Tour guide is Julio. He is awesome!! Goid explain and kindly, funny..!! Chichen Itza and Cenote are impressed. But it was so sad that we didn't have much time in the Cenote.

    Awesome tour!

    Jazz_R, Jul 2024
This was such a great tour! Overall we would recommend. A few high/lows and things we wish we had know, especially with a 4 year old in tow: This is a jam packed day. So many things to see, our guides were very knowledgeable. Lunch was delicious and the Mayan ceremony was interesting to see. The Cenote is NOT to be missed!! We honestly could have shaved off some of our first stop and Valladolid entirely to have more time at the Cenote. Arrival, changing in the lockers, mandatory shower before getting your life jacket, swimming, changing again into dry clothes, AND getting to view/purchase pictures… One hour and 15 minutes felt like a mad rush. Be prepared to move quick to maximize your time, especially if you’re bringing children! We do wish communication had been better. Our confirmation had us for a 12 hour day with a 7am pickup in Playa Del Carmen. I reached out the evening before to confirm and learned our pickup was actually at 7:30. We were on time but not informed that our transport was 30 minutes late. Our resort staff was concerned because apparently booking off resort has a scam reputation, where companies simply no show you after payment. We had to reach out to see what was happening, and even then were not given an ETA, only told that the guide was on the way. Once at the meet-up point and on the bus we learned that we would not be returning until around 10pm. 12 hours was already a huge day for a toddler, so we were concerned to learn it would actually be 14 hours. We were picked up at 8am, and even as the second stop for drop-off we arrived back at our resort at 10pm. Be sure to eat well at your first stop, the box lunch was provided first thing in the morning and only included a small sandwich. Highly recommend dramamine for the bus. I got extremely motion sick and really struggled on the morning ride. There’s a bathroom on the bus but it’s not somewhere you want to spend a lot of time if you can avoid it. Try to sit close to the front and be attentive. We didn’t realize that this was actually a blended tour- I think we may have been the only ones whose first language was English. Our guide spoke incredibly fast, and alternated between English/Spanish with each sentence to accommodate everyone. We felt like we missed a lot of information because of the speed, and they have a lot of really awesome info to share! Knowing some basic Spanish will help catch a bit more as they alternate between languages. There were great shopping opportunities, and I was so grateful how personal our guides were. They remembered our names, made sure no one was left behind, and were generous with water/ice between stops. Definitely helped us feel safe while traveling off resort. Plenty of time to explore Chichen Itza, and they made sure everyone was clear on how to identify the right group/bus when it was time to head back. Overall we would still do this tour all over again! Just be prepared, especially if traveling with little ones, for a big day with lots of snacks and it’ll be well worth the trip!

    Great

Experience is great. Wish the cenote have more time to swim and explore and lessen time at chichen itza.

Great communication. Tour is very long so bring water and snacks. Tour guide George was fantastic. Highly recommend this tour.

    Perfect day.

    Raul_A, Mar 2026
First we went to a small town to eat and it was all delicious. Then we went to Chichen Itza which we really liked and we continued with a bath in a cenote that was a pass and ended up in Valladolid. Hector, Valentine and Fredy were all very attentive.

Very good experience but very tired too, I think it is worth it but you have to get prepared for many hours of bus and total hours of travel. We liked the many Adonis and Joshua guides outside spectacular and made the experience easier and fun. I would recommend yes and did it again but with preparation for 14h in total.
