We begin our day with a late morning pickup at your Kona accommodation or nearby location. Our tour takes us south, through Kona coffee country and historic Kailua-Kona town. A beautiful stop for any of our Waikōloa guests to explore briefly as we pick up our local guests and continue heading south. The tour continues with stops at a bee and honey farm, coffee samplings, a bakery, and a black sand beach, all before reaching the entrance of Volcanoes National Park. Coolest Thing Ever!

“Snorkeling with the manta rays was the coolest thing I ever did in my life!” -my 8 year old son. Loved our guide, Kuai’s scientific knowledge of the rays and both Eve (first mate) and Kuai knew the individuals so well that they knew their personalities. Dolphin Discoveries did a great job sharing this opportunity with us, while prioritizing the safety of the rays and us. That was very important to us and I greatly appreciated their entire staff- Captain Shelly, Eve, and Kuai.

Our nighttime manta ray snorkel was such a unique and unforgettable experience. I’ll admit, it felt a little spooky at first—floating in the dark ocean and imagining these giant, graceful creatures swimming so close and even brushing past you. But once you’re actually in the water, it becomes incredibly peaceful and serene. Watching the manta rays glide effortlessly beneath you is truly mesmerizing. Nick and his team were absolutely amazing. The boat staff—Koa, Nick, and Max—were all so informative, professional, and accommodating from start to finish. They made sure everyone felt safe and prepared, which really helped ease those initial nerves. My kids ended up getting a little freaked out and chose to stay on the boat, but the crew went above and beyond to make sure they still had a great experience. They were so attentive and thoughtful, checking in on them and keeping them engaged while we were in the water. And did their best to ensure they were able to experience the mantarays, even from the boat. Overall, this was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend—especially with such a caring and capable team guiding the way.

Manua Kia Summit Excursion

We had an amazing time visiting the Mauna Kea summit. Yoki (also goes by John) was very pleasant, knowledgeable and made sure everyone’s needs were met. It was cold/windy that day but our guide made sure we stayed warm and comfortable. Seeing the sunset and full moon at night from the summit was such a unique incredible experience, we were very happy to make the trip.

A Sunset to Remember

The boat ride was so fun…the whole crew seemed to be having a good time right along with the guests. There were some pretty good waves at one point so be prepared if you get any kind of motion sickness. A dinner of teriyaki chicken and rice with macaroni salad was also included so you definitely won’t leave hungry. We saw the most beautiful sunset as Hawaiian music played in the background. An unforgettable adventure!

We had an amazing experience on the ATV tour at Ohana Ranch, and a huge part of that was thanks to Hannah! From the moment we arrived, she was friendly, welcoming, and made everyone feel comfortable, no matter their experience level. She gave clear instructions, kept safety a top priority, and made sure the whole group was having a great time. Hannah’s energy really stood out—she was fun, engaging, and knowledgeable about the area. She pointed out cool spots along the ride and made the entire experience feel more personal and memorable. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and it shows in how she interacts with guests. The ride itself was incredible—beautiful views, exciting trails, and just the right mix of adventure and relaxation. Hannah made sure we stayed together while still letting us enjoy the thrill of the ride. If you’re thinking about doing an ATV tour at Ohana Ranch, I highly recommend going with Hannah. She truly made the experience unforgettable!

We booked the day on a recommendation from a friend. It’s a long day but provides a great overview of the highlights of the big island. Well worth the time and money. Stefan was a great guide for the day. We found him attentive to guest needs and very knowledgeable about the island. He managed to make a long day really enjoyable. We’d certainly go with him again on other tours. We really enjoyed his laid back style and conversational approach.The tour picked us up at our hotel on time and managed to visit all promised sites with time at each location. Booking was easy and the company provided great directions and information for the trip. We would use them again as well.

The weather over the volcanoes was horrible and unsafe so our pilot, Jim, gave us the option to fly the northhwest coast, andd see waterfalls, green valleys and whales. What a great option and was perfect for our first ever helicopter flight. Highly recommend this tour and the company was very professional and personable.

From signing up for our tour, to checking, to the tour and afterward cannot say enough positive about the overall experience and value of the experience! Deavon, Sage, Steven, and Leo(?) were kind, passionate confident, knowledgable and obviously trained and prepared for all levels of swimmers/snorkelers. I saw 7 Manta Rays and multiple schools of beautiful fish. And, 5:50 show time included an amazing sunset experience. Thank you guys!
