Jason Makes the Wall Great!
The route we took with Jason was a perfect blend of gorgeous nature, bugs, and well preserved sections of the Wall. It was a proper hike that had us sweating, but nothing we didn’t ask for. He was the most knowledgeable and kindest guide we could’ve imagined, making this tour a true highlight of our trip. Lest we forget, the lunch afterwards was absolutely incredibly delicious as well. Everything is perfect!!

Excellent experience
We had a wonderful day with our tour guide, Helen. She made sure we were all well taken care of throughout our tour. Even though our hotel wasn't originally named on the booking list, we were picked up at our hotel. We started the day at Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, and Helen gave us excellent tips to get through security efficiently. She provided a lot of history and information, and we also had free time to wander and take photos. Then we rested on the bus until we got to a buffet lunch where you also had the opportunity to shop for jade, but there's not much pressure. Then it was on to the Great Wall with plenty of time to wander. We wound up the day with a tea demonstration. We appreciated Helen's work to keep us on schedule and take care of us throughout the day. I think the price is well worth all that is included, especially if you have limited time in Beijing. It was also wonderful to meet the other visitors on the tour. It was a great day!

Absolutely worthwhile experience
Anson was a great tour guide! My friend and I made a slight mistake when trying to meet the group but by perfect chance we were able to find them! We are super thankful for everyone’s patience. The tour is 110% worth it - like Anson said “without me these are just buildings, I give the buildings life!” It’s so true - and this is coming from someone who likes to do things on their own!

A lifelong experience with amazing hosts
If you are lucky enough to travel frequently, you will know that private tours range from an overpriced taxi to an exceptional experience. If you are truly lucky you will receive a day that will stay with you forever. And that’s what we got. My Son and I are travelling around China for his 18th. I booked this tour as Jinshanling is a more remote area, in the hope that it might be less crowded. Leo and Sammy picked us up from our Beijing hotel in a very comfortable vehicle, with AC and fresh, cold bottled water. The 2 hour drive passed quickly and we were dropped off with Sammy to climb up to the Wall. I cannot express how amazing this stretch of the Wall is, there were hardly any other people there when we arrived. It was very hot so it was a relief to come back down to find Leo waiting to take us back to Beijing and, to our delight, they fitted in a visit to the Summer Palace, where again, Leo dropped us right by the entrance and Sammy guided us around. We had planned to go to the Forbidden City self guided in the following morning but, at 9pm I messaged Leo and Sammy to ask if they might guide us. Despite the late hour they organised the tickets and goodness me I’m glad we did. Sammy guided us through all the Security checks and got us to Tiananmen Square. It was a very hot day, and in the Forbidden City I was rather overwhelmed by the heat. Sammy immediately found me an air conditioned area and made sure I was OK before continuing. If you really want your trip to be the best it can be and utterly stress free I cannot recommend this enough.

Beijing day trips offer a unique opportunity to explore beyond the city’s most famous sites and dive deeper into China’s rich history. Just two hours from the capital, you can walk along the iconic Great Wall of China—an ancient fortification still standing after thousands of years. Beyond the Wall, day trips take you to other major cultural landmarks, such as the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, and the Temple of Heaven, offering a mix of history, culture, and natural beauty along the way.
